You must own and live on the property that you want Sweeny United to repair or improve.
Sweeny United cannot work on property that is rented or leased.
Sweeny United does not work on the inside of the home.
Sweeny United cannot repair or replace roofs. SU workers are not allowed on roofs for any reason.
Sweeny United does not replace window panes. Power washing has been discontinued.
Sweeny United does not work within ten feet of power lines.
Sweeny United is not allowed to tear out or do carpentry work on anything that contains asbestos.
Sweeny United work is done by teams of volunteer students with qualified adult supervision. Students do most of the work. All selected projects and work sits must be deemed safe for student participation. Additionally, work sites must be clear of personal belongings and/or debris. SU site managers will approximately a week before SU to evaluate each project for safety and can determine how much a team can do to help clear an area for work.
If your property is chosen as a Sweeny United work site, the team will work from about 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The team will bring its own food and drink. You do not need to supply anything unless you choose to supply all or some of the project supplies.
We are limited to the number of places we can work. Some homes require more skilled labor or more time than we have. You will be notified if we plan to work on your home. IN CASE OF RAIN during that week, we may not be able to complete all projects as planned. We cannot reschedule Sweeny United Week.
All projects started will be completed.
If you have a project that may qualify, fill out the following page by APRIL 28. After you return your application, a Sweeny United Site Manager will visit your home to discuss your needs and determine what kind of materials and supplies will be needed to complete the job. After site manager visits home, please do not request additional work. Please make sure house number is visible.
Sweeny United does not charge for labor. You may make a donation, if you would like to. Thank you for your support of Sweeny United. I understand these guidelines and agree to them.
