Puppy Application

Thank you for your interest in our dogs! We look forward to receiving your application, and to speaking with you soon.
Before you begin, please make sure you have visited our website, www.callenswissies.com, and that you understand how we do things. We have a process in place for approving potential homes, and we would hate for you to waste your time filling out this application if you are not on board with that process.

Three things you need to know:
1. We expect to meet you in person (or via video chat if you live too far away) before we approve your home for one of our puppies.
2. You must pick up your puppy in person at our home.
3. We are extremely selective when approving families for our puppies.
If this doesn't work for you, we won't be a good fit. This is not meant to be unkind, but rather to provide clarity and avoid wasting your time.

Current price for a companion puppy between 8 and 10 weeks is $4000.

Current price for a puppy between 10 weeks and 4 months is $4500 to help cover additional veterinary care and training.

Placement fee for dogs over 4 months is on a case-by-case basis.

Ownership Commitment
We do not ship puppies and they must be picked up in person at our home in Massachusetts. Our puppies typically go home between 8 and 10 weeks of age, depending on the litter. Do you understand that you have to pick up your puppy in person? *
Occasionally, we have adult dogs or older puppies that we are rehoming. Do you have interest in being notified if we have one of these available?
Do you agree to contact us if for any reason you need to rehome this puppy?
All companion puppies are sold on AKC limited registration with a signed spay/neuter agreement. Are you willing to sign an agreement to spay/neuter at an appropriate age?
Swissies should not be spayed or neutered before they are two years old, in order for them to grow properly and have good orthopedic health. Will you wait until your puppy is at least this age before spaying or neutering?*
Large dogs are more expensive than small dogs. Everything about them is "more" and that especially applies to veterinary care. Costs for emergency care typically runs into the thousands, with emergency surgery often being $10,000 or more. Are you willing and able to provide necessary daily care, preventive veterinary care, and emergency veterinary care for this dog for its entire life? *

Like most responsible breeders, we evaluate and place the right puppy with your family. We have an excellent track record of good matches for our dogs, and we expect that our buyers understand this from the start. Especially if you have children in your home, it is important for everyone to understand that buyers do not pick their puppies. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding puppy placement.
