The Ashley Rose Memorial Scholarship was named in honor of Permission to FLY’s beloved co-founder, Ashley Rose Favors, whose legacy continues through the philanthropic initiatives of Permission to FLY. Permission to FLY’s mission is to empower, inspire, and mentor girls and women with rare/visible medical conditions through education, advocacy, and the performing arts.
The Ashley Rose Memorial Scholarship is presented to a 13 to 19-year-old young lady. The recipient of the Scholarship has a rare/visible medical condition but does not accept it as a limitation or burden; instead, she embraces it as motivation to fulfill her higher purpose. The Ashley Rose Memorial Scholarship recipient has learned to embrace the beauty in her uniqueness and wants to show the world how diverse beauty can be.
Guidelines for The Ashley Rose Memorial Scholarship
1) Must be a female aged 13– 19.
2) Must be diagnosed with a rare/visible medical condition (Bell’s Palsy, Lupus, Cleft lip, Eczema, Scoliosis, Psoriasis, Albinism, Vitiligo, Keloids, etc.)
3) Preferably in Performing Arts, either in school, church, or community. Not mandatory.
Please submit your application by midnight on June 1st. The Ashley Rose Memorial Scholarship will be awarded at our annual Empowerment Gala. All applicants must attend the event to receive the Ashley Rose Memorial Scholarship (virtually). If there is a virtual component this year, and you do not reside in GA.)
