I, named above, and hereinafter known as "Foster," agree not to transfer custody of my foster animals to anyone other than New Hope Pet Rescue, hereinafter "Rescue," and agree to return the animal(s) to the Rescue upon demand. Foster agrees to exercise normal care in maintaining the health of any and all foster animals. INITIAL HERE. *

I agree to carefully introduce the new animal to the existing dogs and cats. Coming to a new home is stressful for the new animal and your existing animals. Careful introduction is a must. Your new animal needs time and space to adjust to the surroundings and your existing animals need to feel they are not being replaced or crowded. Introducing the new animal can result in growling, barking, submissive urination or other undesirable behavior. Properly managing the introductions is therefore important. The same is especially true when introducing the animal to potential adopters and their pets. The proper way to introduce the foster dog to any new dogs is one at a time, and on ALL dogs on leashes. Allow the dogs to sniff one another, keeping your hold on the leash firm, but not taut. Walk the dogs next to each other a few steps around the yard. I agree to ASK a Rescue representative about the proper way to introduce the dogs if I have any questions or need assistance. The proper way to introduce a foster cat to any new pets is to conduct a meet and greet indoors, either in the foster's home or the adopter's home. All dogs should be on a leash, and all cats should be given at least 48 hours separated with the ability to see/sniff each other through a barrier before being generally introduced. INITIAL HERE.*

Foster agrees to contact Rescue immediately if the animal becomes ill or is missing. We recognize that dogs being dogs will occasionally make a run for the hills, and cats may sometimes bolt out an open door, so please let us know immediately if the dog/cat is missing. Likewise, animals do become ill, we need to know. INITIAL HERE. *

Foster will provide fresh food, fresh water, and plenty of exercise daily. INITIAL HERE.*

Foster agrees to always keep the foster dog within a fenced yard (not on a chain) or supervised on a leash, or foster cat indoors; Foster agrees to never leave a dog outside when no one is home, to never allow the dog to be tied to a doghouse or to a chain, nor left unsupervised in a yard for extremely long periods. Foster agrees to provide updates to Rescue on the animal's progress. We want to know how you and the animal are doing. INITIAL HERE.*

Foster agrees to always transport this animal in a safe manner and never loose in the open bed of a pick-up truck or in any other unsafe manner. INITIAL HERE.*

I have been advised that foster animals can sometimes dig, chew, soil, and exhibit other undesirable traits. I understand that animals are animals and will do things that cannot be foreseen on occasion. INITIAL HERE.*

I have been advised that my foster animal may have been neglected, mistreated, or abused and that special care of precautions may be required. I also understand that the animal may need medical care which will be provided by NHPR. Rescue animals frequently come in to rescue scared, underweight, and/or ill. INITIAL HERE.*

I have been advised that a foster animal will need time to adjust to new routines, new family and new surroundings. In addition, I am aware that the animal may need training in basic house manners. INITIAL HERE.*

I understand that interactions between my child(ren) or grandchild(ren) and the new animal must be carefully supervised. Any animal in rescue is screened, but animals are animals and unpredictable on occasion and especially in new surroundings. I agree that I will never leave my child alone and unsupervised with the animal as I realize that one mistake on my part can result in injury and in the animal never having a home. INITIAL HERE.*

Every effort is made to make sure that any animal that is placed in rescue is thoroughly evaluated for its temperament, health, physical soundness and overall suitability, before it is ever placed in a foster home. However, NHPR cannot and does not guarantee the health or temperament of said animal, has no documentation on the actual breed unless otherwise provided. INITIAL HERE.*

I understand that my family or myself may become attached to the animal and decide to adopt it. This is welcomed but not preferred if adopting the animal means we will lose your home as a potential foster home in the future. We understand that strong bonds form between loving humans and their pets. I understand that I must promptly notify Rescue of my desires to adopt the animal. I understand that I will not be charged the normal adoption fees, but that I may have to reimburse Rescue for some or all reasonable expenses paid by Rescue towards this animal while in foster care with me. This may include all vetting, food, other costs. INITIAL HERE.*

I will not hold New Hope Pet Rescue or any of its volunteers responsible for any damage to property or injury to myself or others that could be a part of fostering a animal. INITIAL HERE.*

FOSTER HAS READ THE FOREGOING FOSTER CONTRACT AND FULLY UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES TO BE BOUND TO ITS PROVISIONS. FOSTER HAS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW THIS CONTRACT TO AN ATTORNEY OR VOLUNTARY CHOOSES TO SIGN WITHOUT DOING SO. THIS CONTRACT CANNOT BE MODIFIED EXCEPT BY A SEPARATE SIGNED WRITTEN AGREEMENT. BY SIGNING BELOW, I AGREE TO BE BOUND TO THIS CONTRACT, AND UNDERSTAND THE CONSEQUENCES OF ANY BREACH OF THIS CONTRACT.

Publicity Release

In return for being allowed to participate in New Hope Pet Rescue volunteer activities and all related activities, including any activities incidental to such participation ("Volunteer Activities"), the undersigned Volunteer or Parent/Legal Guardian of Volunteer if Volunteer is under age 18 (hereafter referred to using "I", "me", or "my") hereby grants to the Rescue, and each of its subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, advertising or promotional agencies, and partners, and all such entities' officers, directors, agents, employees, respective successors and assigns (collectively, "Authorized Parties"), the absolute and irrevocable right and permission to use, publish, broadcast and/or copyright the use of Volunteer's name, address, voice, photograph and/or likeness, caricature, and personal information, in its current form or as retouched, digitized, cropped, altered, distorted or modified in any way, in any and all advertising, promotional, or other materials based upon or derived from the Volunteer Activities in any manner, in any media whatso- ever for any and all purposes, including by way of example but without limitation advertising, promoting or publicizing products and services throughout the universe, in perpetuity, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised (including without limitation on the Internet), without additional compensation. I further agree that anything derived there from will be owned solely by the Authorized Parties.

I understand that this document is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the state in which the Volunteer Activities take place and agree that if any portion of this Agreement is invalid, the remainder will continue in full legal force and effect.

I, the above mentioned volunteer, understand and agree to assume any and all risks involved in any and all duties that I perform for New Hope Pet Rescue, also known as NHPR, in my capacity as a volunteer for this organization.

I understand and agree to hold NHPR harmless for any injury or injuries which I might sustain during the course of my volunteer duties for NHPR including, but not limited to: the risks of being bitten, scratched, or injured by any animals under my care as a volunteer with NHPR.

I understand and agree that NHPR is not liable for any injuries, damages, liabilities, losses, judgements, costs, or expenses whatsoever that I may suffer or sustain in connection with the performance of my volunteer activities unless they are a result of NHPR gross negligence (defined as: a careless and reckless disregard for the safety or lives of others, which is so great it appears to be almost a conscious violation of other people’s rights to safety) or intentional misconduct.

I will indemnify, defend, and hold NHPR harmless from and against any claims, lawsuits, injuries, damages, losses, costs, or expenses whatsoever sustained by any companion animal or any person in connection with my intentional misconduct or grossly negligent performance of volunteer activities for NHPR or with my breach of NHPR’s rules, regulations, policies and programs.

If I will be sheltering or providing foster care or boarding for any New Hope Pet Rescue’s animals in my home or business, I consent to NHPR visiting my home from time to time to observe the animals and their living quarters.

THIS HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT WILL FOREVER PREVENT ME FROM SEEKING ANY LEGAL ACTIONS WHATSOEVER AGAINST NEW HOPE PET RESCUE OR ANY OF IT’S REPRESENTATIVES/AGENTS.
