2023 Summer Classes

Kanji Intensive Course
Thursdays, 5:30pm - 6:15pm on 6/15, 6/22, 6/29, and 7/6
Format: Online via Zoom

Students will learn major Kanji radicals and key Kanji components that give clues for the pronunciation and the meaning of Kanji characters. During this course, students complete a project of creating a Kanji mug.

This intensive course is taught in Japanese and is suitable for students who have learned, or are going to learn the basic level of Kanji (Grade 1 in Japanese elementary school). Current Donguri Kai Level 3 and Level 4 students should sign up for this course.

Beginner Conversation Course
Tuesdays, 5:15pm - 6:00 pm on 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, and 7/18

Format: Online via Zoom

In this course, students learn to express what they want to do in Japanese - learning verbs and words often used in daily life, making and using a phrase, and practicing their pronunciation.

This beginner course is taught in English and is suitable for children in K - 3 who want to begin learning Japanese as a second language.

Hiragana Intensive Course
Wednesday, 7/5; Thursday, 7/6; Friday, 7/7; and Monday, 7/10

Format: Online via Zoom

In this course, students learn the organizational system of the Hiragana chart and familiarize themselves with the alphabet letters. Students play games, fun quizzes, and more with Japanese letters.

This intensive course is taught in English and is suitable for children in 1st - 6th grade who want to begin learning Japanese as a second language.
