ABLE Anthology Publish Agreement

Congratulations on choosing to become an ABLE PUBLISHING PRESS Author.

We are delighted that you have chosen to be a co-author of the ABLE VISONARY LEADERS Anthology with us. We hope that your experience of working with us is a positive one.

We work closely with our authors to ensure that each book journey reaches its highest potential. Keeping the lines of communication open throughout the process is important to us. In addition to this, your publishing deal includes the following:

•  Copyedit and proofread
• Cover Design
• Typesetting
• Printing set up and print proof
• Global online distribution 
• eBook setup and distribution
• Distribution to physical Australian bookstores via a distributor.
• Entry into an international book award contest. 
• Books available to order at print cost.
• Overseas print management upon request. 
• Online Launch organised
• Press release distributed and book promoted in ABLE Publishing Channels.
•  Marketing pack including 50 Author cards,1x Posters, press release and sell sheet
• 50 complimentary copies of your book. 
• 2x1 hour mentoring sessions and ongoing guidance
• Targeted PR and Marketing Campaign
• Co-Launch at the ABLE 2023 event
• Free General entry to ABLE 2023 (excluding Dinner)
• Professional interview video at ABLE 2023
• Professional headshots x3 at ABLE 2023

Some terms and information:

•  We will prepare the anthology for production through cover design and manuscript layout, by signing this agreement you are giving us permission to distribute the anthology through our distribution channels.

• Images – any images that you have provided us with will also be approved when you sign, to allow us the necessary permission required to use any images provided in production and marketing.

•  The anthology will be displayed in the distributor's catalogue which is sent to Australia's leading bookstores for consideration of stocking it on their shelves.

• As a co-author it is advised that you think of innovative ways to promote the anthology, we will offer you support with this and promote you through all of our channels.

•  We endeavour to create as many sales as possible but we cannot guarantee that this anthology will be a best seller or reach a set amount of sales. However, every opportunity to do so will be explored.

• We will provide you with as many extra copies of the anthology at cost price (the price which the printing house charges for production, shipping, handling etc) that you wish to sell yourself, we will not add on any further fees and all profits thereafter from sales are yours.

• Profits through sales made through our distribution network are calculated on a half-yearly basis. Royalty payments are notified through an online statement and royalties will be made via direct credit for our Australian authors and via PayPal for our overseas authors. You will retain 90% of all royalties after print and distribution costs. 

• PR includes promotions to ABLE networks via social media platforms and email. A press release distributed via Australian PR channel to journalists and distributor promotions directly to bookstores. 

• The anthology will be launched at the ABLE 2023 event in October.  On this date, all sales accumulated through your launch period will be forwarded to you regardless of the royalty timeframe you are in.

Publishing Payments Structure:

The total cost of investment in the anthology is $3750 incl GST

We operate on the following payment structure:

• 10% - Deposit          $375.00
• 25% - First Edit        $937.50
• 15% - Second Edit.   $562.50
• 25% - Proof Read     $937.50
• 25% - Before print    $937.50

Extra print copies can be purchased at print cost.

In the rare instance of unforeseen costs presenting themselves, a meeting will be arranged to discuss this in an amicable way.

Content Standards and Right to Refuse Publication

(a) Author Warranties and Content Standards. The Author warrants that the Work (and any associated content, including without limitation text, images, illustrations, references, links, metadata, promotional material, and any supplementary material) will not contain, depict, or promote any content that:

• is highly sexually explicit, pornographic, or primarily intended to arouse or gratify sexual interest in a manner inconsistent with general commercial publishing standards
• is religiously offensive, including content that vilifies, mocks, or incites hatred toward a religion, faith group, or religious practice;
• endorses, encourages, glorifies, or promotes violence, including social or domestic violence, or provides advocacy for harm against any person or group; or
• advocates, endorses, or promotes political extremism, including content that incites hatred, discrimination, or violence, or that supports extremist ideologies or organisations.

(b) Publisher Discretion. ABLE Publishing Press may, acting reasonably and in good faith, determine whether the Work complies with this clause. If the ABLE Publishing Press considers that any part of the Work does not comply, ABLE Publishing Press may require the Author to revise the Work to achieve compliance, or may suspend services, decline publication, or cease further distribution of the Work.

For the avoidance of doubt, ABLE Publishing Press may also take action under this clause where the Work is likely to breach the content policies of major retailers, printers, distributors, or online platforms.

(c) Consequences of Non-Compliance. If the Author fails to make requested revisions within a reasonable timeframe (or if compliance cannot be achieved), ABLE Publishing Press may terminate this Agreement by written notice. Where termination occurs under this clause, the Author remains responsible for fees and charges for services already completed and any third-party costs incurred up to the termination date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

(d) No Duty to Publish. Nothing in this Agreement obliges ABLE Publishing Press to publish, distribute, or continue to make available a Work that, in ABLE Publishing Press’s reasonable opinion, breaches this clause or exposes the Publisher to legal, reputational, platform, retailer, or commercial risk.

Refund Policy: All deposits and monies paid are non-refundable and non-transferable
