Volunteer Responsibilities:
Volunteering at the Historic Manassas Farmers Market is a great way to give back to the community, support local growers and makers, and strengthen the local economy. Volunteers play a vital role in the smooth operation of the Market and assist the Market Management team with a variety of tasks, including:
- Assisting with Market setup and breakdown, including tents, signs, and supplies
- Helping open and close the Market each day
- Providing parking directions and assistance to vendors and customers
- Staffing the Market Info Booth to answer questions from customers and vendors
- Supporting SNAP/EBT transactions, including processing payments, collecting SNAP tokens from vendors, and maintaining accurate reimbursement records
- Helping track customer attendance
Qualifications:
Anyone is welcome to volunteer at the Historic Manassas Farmers Market! Volunteers should be comfortable following directions from the Market Management team, communicating with vendors and customers, lifting heavy and bulky objects, and being outdoors for several hours. **For the early shifts on Thursday and Saturday Mornings it is extremely important that you arrive at 6:00 am. to assist with set-up. If you are not a morning person, this shift may not be for you.**
