The terms of this Agreement shall also serve as a release and assumption of risk in the event of any losses or damages that may occur during my participation in the MSD Columbia Campus PTCA Golden 50 Mile Cycling Event. I, my assignees, heirs, legal representatives, administrators, family members (including minors), and guardians agree to hold harmless and not make any claim against, or file any suit against, or attach any claims to the property of the State of Maryland, the Maryland School for the Deaf, its affiliates, directors, agents, employees, contractors, volunteers, instructors, or guides for any and all losses, injuries or damages I may suffer as a result of the acts of omission, including negligent acts or omissions, of any employee, agent, contractor, volunteer or staff. ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I understand and acknowledge that there are a number of specific risks and dangers inherent in participating in a bicycle event. These include, without limitation, the following: the dangers of falls; the dangers of collisions with pedestrians, spectators, vehicles, other riders and/or fixed or moving objects; the dangers arising from the number of participants or the inexperience of many of the bicyclists; the dangers arising from surface hazards, conditions of the roads, equipment failure, inadequate safety equipment and weather conditions; property damage or loss; the dangers of travel to and from the cycling event; and the possibility of serious physical or mental trauma, death or injury associated with cycling participation. With knowledge of these risks, I nevertheless wish to participate in the MSD Columbia Campus PTCA Golden 50 Mile Cycle Event and agree to assume those risks and to release, as described below, all persons and/or entities specified below from liability for any injury, death, or property damages occuring on account of or in connection with my participation or in travel to or from the MSD Columbia Campus PTCA Golden 50 Mile Cycling Event, even though such injury, death, or property damage may arise out of NEGLIGENCE or CARELESSNESS of MSD PTCA and/or any of its officers, directors, agents, servants, employees, representatives, volunteers, and/or sponors.
Release of Liability - I agree not to hold the State of Maryland, the Maryland School for the Deaf, Columbia Campus Parent Teacher and Community Association (PTCA) its contractors, employees, volunteers, and agents harmless from any and all liability, action, causes of action, losses, damages, debts, claims and demands of any and every kind which may occur during my participation in the Maryland School for the Deaf, Columbia Campus PTCA 50 Golden Mile Cycling Event on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
