Hours of Operation: Sunday - Thursday: 10 am to 8 pm; Friday - Saturday:
10 am to 9 pm
GO TEXAN Status: You must be an active GO TEXAN Partner. Space
is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and is secured only after
payment is received.
Insurance: A copy of your company’s Product Liability Insurance with
minimum coverage of $1,000,000 is required. Additionally, you must list
the Texas Department of Agriculture as “Additional Insured.”
Permitting: Food vendors are also required to have a valid Food Manufacturer License. No cottage foods products allowed.
Allowable Products: Permitted food products and gift items may be
sold in the General Store. Refrigerated and frozen products are generally
allowed but keep in mind that your customers will be spending, on
average, about 5 hours at the State Fair of Texas and will not have a
way to keep their products chilled. Thus, if you wish to sell refrigerated
or frozen products, we recommend selling easily consumable items. Per
State Fair of Texas rules and regulations, NO products containing CBD
or Alcohol are allowed to be sold in the General Store.
Contractor Commission: The store contractor will retain 30% of your
gross sales.
Product Stocking: You can ship or hand deliver your product(s). To determine
how much product you should deliver, consider the total amount
of shelving space that you rent. For the pre-fair delivery, send 3 times the
amount of product that will fit on your shelf. Once the General Store is
operating, you may have a reserve of no greater than 2 times the amount
that is on your shelf. You will register your business with an online portal
that will allow you to track sales in real-time and ensure that you have the
information that you need to keep your shelves stocked! (Example: If you
rent one shelf and 20 bottles of sauce fit on your shelf, send 60 bottles
for your initial delivery. After the store is open, check your account daily.
If you are selling 10 bottles of sauce each day, send 40 more bottles to
arrive at the General Store every 4 days).
