JOB SUMMARY
The Kids Club Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children while their parents enjoy the gym. This team member is responsible for supervising children, providing engaging activities, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering exceptional service to both children and parents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet all parents and children warmly upon entry, ensuring a welcoming and friendly environment.
- Supervise children ranging from 3 months to 12 years of age, providing attentive care and engagement.
- Comfort and reassure children who may be unfamiliar or anxious in a new environment.
- Engage actively with children through play and interaction; cell phone use is strictly prohibited while on duty.
- Clean, sanitize, and organize toys and play areas to maintain a healthy, safe environment.
- Promptly notify parents when diaper changes are needed; Kids Club staff do not perform diaper changes.
- Ensure adherence to the two-hour maximum time limit per child, per day.
- Maintain a positive, cheerful demeanor and a professional appearance, including wearing the approved staff uniform.
- Multi-task effectively with children of varying ages and needs.
- Be knowledgeable about the gym’s services, programs, and events to answer parent inquiries accurately.
- Assist teammates by covering shifts when needed and fostering a cooperative work environment.
- Keep the Kids Club desk area clean, organized, and clutter-free.
- Stay updated on gym communications via emails or texts from ownership and management.
- Prepare the Kids Club area for the next shift, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to manage multiple children and situations calmly and efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols.
- Ability to remain patient, compassionate, and upbeat in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player mindset, with flexibility to adapt to the needs of the gym and co-workers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous childcare or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
- CPR/AED certification for infants and children is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
- Occasional lifting of children, toys, and equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Work in a lively gym environment with varying noise levels.
- Schedule includes weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
- Part-time position with flexible scheduling.
