The Ken "Bergy" Liimatta Hockey Scholarship was created to remove financial barriers for families to register their children for ice skating lessons and youth hockey programs in the Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw (CLK) Region

Scholarship Criteria:
- Intent to register in an approved "Learn to Skate" or youth ice hockey program in the CLK region.
- Financial need. Generally, families whose incomes fall within the free or reduced lunch guidelines in the National School Lunch Program will qualify and be given preference. Multiple students from the same family may be listed on a single application. Please fill out all information for each student.

Scholarships for hockey registration will typically cover 50% of the registration fee.

A parent/guardian should fill out the application.

This scholarship uses financial need as the selection criteria. The Foundation has selected the USDA School Lunch Program income guidelines to determine financial need.

For the 2025-2026 school year, the USDA has determined the following annual income limits for the school lunch program:
