Thank you for your interest in the Sharon Land Trust’s Earth and Environmental Sciences Scholarship. This year’s award, of up to $2,000, will be given for one (1) year. (If there are multiple awardees this amount may be divided among them). Before beginning the application process, please be sure that you meet the criteria listed below. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
1. The applicant must be a resident of Northwest CT Region One (Sharon, Cornwall, Falls Village (Canaan), Kent, North Canaan, and Salisbury) and must be a secondary school graduate by the end of the current school year.
2. The applicant should demonstrate academic achievement, strong character, and leadership qualities.
3. The applicant must have an interest in conservation, ecology, sustainable agriculture, earth sciences and/or environmental science and be accepted into a program of higher education or vocational training that is aligned with earth, environmental, biological, or conservation studies.
4. Applicant must be willing to participate in an interview with the Sharon Land Trust Scholarship Committee.
APPLICATION:

A. Cover letter detailing your interest in conservation and how it aligns with your future career goals. Include a brief description of any extra-curricular, volunteer and/or community service activities you have participated in while in secondary school.
B. Official school transcript
C. Teacher recommendation
D. Guidance counselor recommendation
E. Letter of acceptance from the school or program you plan to attend confirming your acceptance

Applications missing any of the required documents will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed until all materials have been submitted.
