Visa Application Process

Please read and follow the instructions carefully before submitting your application.

If you plan to join us in Bhutan, you need a visa to enter the country, depending on your nationality—exempt countries: India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.

Before you start, please have the following documents: 

• Passport Digital Scan/Copy.
• Passport-sized 3x4 digital photograph.
• FAB23 Bhutan Ticket.

Steps on starting your application process:

1. Purchase your online full-access pass ticket on FAB23 Bhutan website.
2. Download, complete, and accept the fill-in form below for the official visa application.
3. Complete this application process, upload any documentation required, and submit.
4. Receive a confirmation email for your application.

Fill-in form essential detail:

The photograph* in the form must be glued and not stapled or pinned to the application form.

*Please read the requirements for the passport-sized photograph outlined in "Section III: Document Upload, 2. Passport-sized digital photograph of this online form.

Fields:

13. Period for which visa required: (From:/To:) We are only allowed to join Bhutan From: July 16, 2023 To: July 28, 2023. The visa period may be extended beyond July 16 - July 28, 2023 to allow for additional flexibility in travel. This decision is pending, and we will communicate with ticket holders once the dates are finalized.

14. Port of entry/exit: (Entry port:/Exit port:) For international participants, the Port of Entry must be Paro, except for Indian participants who who can travel by car and enter through Phuentsholing.

15. Purpose of visit: FAB23 Bhutan

Please make sure to read each of the requirements before you start uploading the documentation:

1. Passport Digital Scan/Copy: Passport with at least six months (6 months) of validity remaining from the date of entry to Bhutan. Example scan/copy here, including the biometrics page and the signature page.

2. Passport-sized digital photograph: Recent passport photograph (not more than six months old). The size of the photograph should be 45 mm x 35 mm with your facial image taking up 70 to 80 % of the photograph, taken with a white background and without a border.

The photograph must:

• show you looking directly at the camera. No looking over one shoulder (portrait style).
• show eyes open and clearly visible. If you wear glasses there should be no flash reflection, no tinted lenses and the frames should not cover any part of your eyes.
• be in sharp focus and clear – no shadows.
• be of high quality with no ink marks or creases. Photographs taken with a digital camera must be printed on photo-quality paper.
• be clean with no smudge marks.

Your passport photograph is the primary form of identification and following these minimum ICAO standards would facilitate proper identification at immigration checks while avoiding the need for the Passport Section to ask you to resubmit your photograph.

3. Visa Application form: Participants must complete the visa application form that includes basic personal information, travel details, and other relevant information.

4. FAB23 Bhutan Ticket: .pdf of your registration ticket to support your participation

The Bhutan Department of Immigration may ask for additional documents to support your application. Please monitor your inbox, including your spam folder, and comply with the additional requests.
