Statement of Discipline
Braveheart Christian Academy recognizes that it cannot meet the educational needs of all children and have agreed with my family to co-teach my child/children. We offer a high-quality Christian program, but we are not designed to be a correctional institution for problems arising beyond those usually encountered in the average child.
While we love delinquent and emotionally unstable children, the school is not equipped to meet the need of those severely troubled or in need of specialized training. It is also true that some children do not adjust to a disciplined academic environment and find excuses to criticize the policies and decisions of the school staff and administration.
In such cases, the school reserves the right to have full discretion in the discipline, with probation for a reasonable, corrective period of time or with suspension, of any student who will not cooperate with the total educational process.
For further details see the probation and suspension section in the Student & Parent Handbook.
Parental Pledge and Required Monthly Parenting Enrichment Classes
I/We recognize that Braveheart Christian Academy has a highly qualified trained staff, and I/we have confidence in their abilities to perform the educational co-training due my/our child/children.
I/We realize that from time to time children take issue with actions that they do not agree with, and they are prone to criticize statements out of context. This being natural for children, I/we pledge that should this occur, I/we will not support the criticism; I/we will correct my/our child/children, communicate with and support the school staff, and call in for full details at any time I/we have a question concerning an incident.
I/We further realize that building strong relationships with my/our child/children is as much my/our responsibility as it is Braveheart Christian Academy. I/We will pray for the staff and program and will cooperate with them in discipline, accepting their judgment in all such matters. I/We will lay a spiritual foundation through Godly example in the home; support the spiritual training of chapel, and Bible memory; follow through on any work assignments, detentions and any other memos to be signed; see that the child/children reaches the school on time in proper uniform; send written, email or text messages reasons for absenteeism or tardiness; cooperate in training the child/children to respect the property of others and to pay for the abuse of the same; attend all parent functions that are mandatory; and speak only good about the school to others.
I/We realize that attending Braveheart Christian Academy is a privilege and not a right. It is my/our intention to abide by the decisions and the discipline of the administration. If the time comes I/we can no longer agree to this pledge, I/we will withdraw my/our child/children in a respectful and professional manner and will not attempt to discourage others.
I/We agree to attend the monthly Parenting A Child's Heart Classes held via Zoom to learn how to further equip your child for academic, character, and spiritual success.
Please note that only two classes per academic year can be missed. If a work commitment prevents one from attending class, please see Pastor Joshua Bernard or Chrystal Bernard prior to the class date.
