I understand that Kings County Animal Services makes no representation about the health of any animal I might foster. Should an animal need veterinary attention while in my care, I will return it to KCAS or assume responsibility for all veterinary costs incurred. Should any medical conditions develop, I will notify KCAS as soon as possible.
I understand that any fostered animal remains the property of KCAS and I agree to return such animal(s) immediately upon their request. I will provide KCAS with a weekly update on the condition of all fostered animals. Should anyone be interested in adopting a fostered animal, I am to notify KCAS before starting the adoption process.
I grant to KCAS, its representatives and employees the right to use photographs and/or video provided by me in connection with my foster parent volunteer service. I authorize the use and publishing of the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that use of such photographs/video of me may be used with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including publicity, illustration, advertising, and web content and I hereby waive all claims for compensation for the use of the photographs and/or videos, and release and hold harmless KCAS from any liability arising out of the use of my name, photograph, or video.
I understand and accept that there are certain risks involved with fostering and handling animals, and other activities in which I may engage as a foster parent volunteer for King County Animal Services. Such risks may include, but are not limited to, animal bites, scratches and illness that may be transferred from animals to people. I acknowledge that my volunteering is not without risk of serious injury, illness, death and damage to property, and I fully assume all risks in connection therein. Furthermore, I understand that certain illnesses may be transmitted to my own animal(s) and it is solely my responsibility to ensure that proper preventative measures are taken to ensure their health. Any treatment required for my own companion animal(s) is my responsibility and I will not be reimbursed for any costs incurred.
I understand that I am solely financially responsible for any medical treatment or care for any injury or illness resulting from my fostering activities, whether through my own health insurance coverage or otherwise. I have been encouraged to consult with a medical professional to address any concerns prior to my volunteering, including, for example, any recommended vaccinations before handling animals.
In consideration of my participation as a volunteer foster for KCAS, and good and other valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, I (together with my spouse, heirs, successors, representatives and assigns) agree to assume and to forever release, waive, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless KCAS, including its directors, officers, employees and agents, and their respective successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”), for any and all claims, demands and damages of every kind and nature whatsoever, which I may have or which may hereafter accrue to me, against any of the Released Parties on account of any property damage, death, personal injury or illness, and the treatment thereof, including those caused by negligence or carelessness attributable to the Released Parties, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable, relating to my participation as a foster for KCAS.
