  • Patterson Training Spring Show will be held at Patterson Training, 272 S Sprague Drive, Star Valley, Payson, AZ 85541 on 29th and 30th April 2023.

    Show office will open at 8.00am, Classes will start at 9am

    ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 26th April 2023.

    Entry Fee: $20 per class, Leadline $10, Working Equitation Level 1 - $40, Level 2 - $55  Office Fee $15 (Except Leadline), $10 for Use of School Horse (Except Leadline)

    Late entries $5 surcharge per class.

  • RULES AND REGULATIONS

    The Horse Show Management reserves the right to itself to interpret any and all questions and conditions in regard to or arising out of an incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. Questions not covered in these Rules and Regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Management, their decision to be final.

    Horse Show Management reserves the right to limit entries, refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries, and cancel cash prizes without claim for damages; to change any course, cancel or combine any classes, or to make changes management deems to be in the best interests of the show. Every horse entered for competition will be under the control of the Horse Show Management, but Management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the show, its members, directors and employees, facility and Patterson Training LLC harmless for any loss or accident to horse, horses or equipment which may occur from sickness, injury, fire or otherwise.

    At Judge’s discretion, any rider may be disqualified for horse abuse, unsportsmanlike conduct, lack of control or unsafe situations.

    Classes as follows:

    Leadline – (8 and under), Squirts (9 and Under), Junior (10-13), Senior (14-17), Adults (18+) Ages apply on day of Show. Classes may be combined when there are 3 or fewer entries

    Attire:

    English classes – riding boots, breeches, polo shirt and a helmet are required. Jacket, gloves, belts, crop/spurs are optional. Numbers should be worn on your back while showing. Forgetting your number will be a disqualification for that class.

    Western Classes – riding boots, jeans, shirt, are required. Helmet requirement can be waived by signing waiver. Ties, hats, belts, crop/spurs are optional. Numbers should be worn on your back while showing. Forgetting your number will be a disqualification for that class.

    Tack:

    Proper tack is required – English tack for English classes, Western tack for Western classes. A neck strap is optional for jumping classes. Horses under 5 years old and under must be ridden in a snaffle and two handed. Western riders using a snaffle bit must ride two-handed, Western riders using a curb bit may ride one or two handed. Riders must ride the whole class either one or two handed, no switching back and forth. Martingales are prohibited in all under saddle classes. No Polo wraps and boots are allowed in flat classes. Red tail ribbons are required for horses likely to kick. Any questions concerning tack will be at the sole discretion of the judge and/or show management, their decision to be final.

    Ribbons:

    Ribbons will be given for 1st-6th place in each class. Grand Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons will be awarded each day for each age group. Working Equitation not included in Grand Champion/Reserve Champion results. 

    Returned Checks:  Checks returned by the bank for any reason will be assessed a 10% penalty (minimum of $25).

    RELEASE

    I, the undersigned ( or parent or guardian) request permission for the above rider to enter the premises located at 272 S. Sprague Dr.,  Star Valley, Arizona and to participate in various horse related activities. I know that the temperament and the character of horses are unpredictable. I know that there are risks not limited to, but including, the animals’ biting, kicking, running away, shying, or my or my child’s falling off the animal. I have inspected the premises and I know the risks and dangers involved in such activities, and that unanticipated and unexpected dangers may arise during such activities, and I assume all risk of my or my child’s property that maybe sustained in connection with the stated and associated activities, in and about the premises.

    In consideration of the permission granted to me to enter the premises and participate in the stated activities, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, administrators, and assigns; release, remise, and discharge the owners, operators, and sponsors of the premises and officials, and all other participants in the stated activities of any sort, for injury sustained to my person and/or property or that of my child during my presence or theirs on the premises and my participation in the stated activities do to negligence or any other fault.

    I represent and certify that my true age is over 18 years, and if I am under the age of 18 years, I represent and certify that I have the permission of my parents and/or guardians to participate in the stated activities, and that they have full knowledge thereof.

    I certify that my attendance and participation of the stated activities is voluntary, and that I am not, in any way, the employee, servant, or agent of the owners, operators, or sponsors of the premises and the activities therein.

    I understand that under Arizona Law, pursuant to A.R.S. s12-553 an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.
