Advanced Beginner and Intermediate Clinics- These clinics are for queer wave riders who are ready to advance their skills to the next level. With a max of 3 participants, these clinics cover customized topics to help you progress your surfing. Clinics are generally recommended for queers who have their own gear. In special cases, gear rental is available for an additional cost.
Advanced Beginner Clinic- For queers who want to move beyond surfing in the whitewash. This clinic is for people who are comfortable in the whitewash and are able to consisently ride broken waves. Focused on customized topics such as how to get out through the waves, riding open faced waves, timing and reading waves, lineup ettiquette, and more.
Intermediate Clinic- For intermediate queer surfers looking to progress their surfing. This clinic is for queers who are consistently able to get out the back and are riding open faced waves, but want guidance to improve. Covering topics like managing speed, reading waves, workshopping your stance and style, turns and norserides, navigating lineups and more.
Time: 2.5 hours
Cost: $120-$250
Instructors: Our instructors are experienced surfers and water people, and are queer and queer competent. Our clinics have a maximum 4:1 student:instructor ratio.
Meet the instructor, Cyrus-
Cy is born and raised in San Francisco/Pacifica and grew up playing and riding waves in the ocean surrounding them. Instructing surfing in the Bay Area for 14 years, they love creating safe and joyful outdoor spaces and experiences for people. Cy has a degree in Environmental Studies from UCSB and is passionate about working towards environmental justice. Apart from riding waves, they enjoy eating snacks, bike rides, and live music.
