An award of a computer (or other necessary electronics) is awarded to a deserving Eagle Scout graduating from high school and pursuing higher education. The award is given in memory and honor of Matt Stevenson.

The award is based on the Eagle Scout's scholarship, need, and service to community. The award winner is announced each year in May. and the computer presented to the Scout before the fall semester begins. Please complete the entire application (except for optional questions

Matthew Thomas Stevenson Award

Background: Matt Stevenson was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on Feb 25, 1993 in Mossville, IL. Matt continued to exceptionally demonstrate the elements of the Scout Law as he proceeded through high school and college. He attended Illinois State University, where he majored in Computer Science. At the age of 23, Matt passed away as the result of leukemia, which he bravely fought for nearly 2 years.

The objectives of this award are:
1. To remember Matt's dedication to Scouting, his interest in computers, his scholarship, and his service to others
2. To recognize and encourage excellence in demonstrating these qualities by other Scouts.
