    ASFA is an Independent and student-run association which represents the collective voice of over 10,000 students in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Concordia. ASFA advocates for student rights, builds community on campus through events, supports 33 department-based student Member Associations, and provides services to foster a supportive and positive student experience.

  • About the Frosh Coordinator Position:

    Contract length: -June-2026 until Sep-2026.

    Compensation and Hours: The Frosh Coordinator position will work hours which vary throughut the contract, getting longer as the event draws closer. The position is therefore paid a salary which averages out to approximately 17 hours per week at $18 per hour.

     

    Tasks and Responsibilities:
    The Frosh Coordinator is in charge of assisting the Outreach Coordinator with organizing, conducting, and ensuring the smooth execution of Frosh. 

    General

    • Read, understand, implement, and enforce ASFA’s by-laws and standing regulations
    • Work and coordinate with the Outreach Coordinator to ensure the proper planning and execution of Frosh

    Communication and Outreach

    • Joining the Student Life Committee
    • Ensuring that all information about Frosh is communicated to arts and science students
    • In collaboration with the ASFA Executive team, promote Frosh to the student population, through methods which shall include but not be limited to posters, social media, email newsletters, and in-person outreach
    • Monitoring online activity from Frosh attendees and answering their inquiries
    • Assist with bookings for Frosh venues
    • Receive and respond to any complaints from Frosh leaders or attendees but with the consultation of the ASFA Executive team

    Administrative

    • Manage the hiring process for all Frosh leaders
    • ​​In coordination with the ASFA Finance Coordinator and Student Life Coordinator, manage the budget for Frosh
    • Compile, update, and/or create needed Frosh-related forms, such as registration forms, and the FROSH information package and emergency informaton
    • Collect and review registration forms and payment from FROSH attendees
    • Produce and present a detailed written report to the ASFA Council following FROSH which must include but is not limited to:
      • 1) the dates of Frosh;
      • 2) The complete list of Frosh leaders;
      • 3) The total number of attendees;
      • 4); A debriefing on the various stages of the Frosh planning process and actions undertaken during it;
      • 5) Recommendations for ASFA and for future ASFA Frosh coordinators’ to improve in the next Frosh;
      • 6) Details of all Frosh expenditures-to-date

     

    Qualifications:
    The candidate must be enrolled in an Arts and Science Major, Minor or Specialization at Concordia University. The candidate must have a valid driver's license.

    Assets include:

    • Experience with organizing events is necessary
    • Experience in a leadership role
    • Ability to anticipate problems
    • Good computer skills, including but not limited to: Zoom, GSuite, and Microsoft Office including Excel (for budget/organizational spreadsheets)
    • Demonstrated maturity and ability to accept responsibility
    • Experience working in team environments and independently
    • Knowledge of Concordia community
    • Experience recruiting and training volunteers
