2026 Data Science in Oceanography
Summer Program for Undergraduate Students, July 20-31, 2026. In person at the School of Oceanography, University of Washington, Seattle, WA
Application timeline
Applications will be accepted until May 30th, 2026. Decisions are planned to be sent out by June 15th, 2025. Accepted students will need to confirm or decline their participation in the program within a week of receiving the acceptance offer.
Eligibility
(1) Current undergraduate students who will be returning to their institution after the summer program. (2) Applicants who already have a bachelor's degree (for example, those taking a gap year) and are strongly considering applying for graduate programs in oceanography in the following academic year. (3) Students currently residing outside the US but are strongly interested in pursuing graduate programs in US institutions are also welcome to apply.

Housing
The program can organize on-campus housing at UW dorms. The program will provide paid-for accommodation to students who are currently receiving need-based financial aid and/or indicating that paid-for accommodations are necessary for their participation in the program. Accepted applicants who did not request/receive paid-for housing, can reserve UW guest housing here: https://hfs.uw.edu/guest-housing. Would you like the program to arrange on-campus housing for you?
