The Isadore Herbert Borgen ’30 Summer Language Internship Grant, offered by the Division of Humanities and the Arts, is an annual $4000 grant to an undergraduate to support a student who has attained at least the 300-level of a language offered at City College. The award will enrich the student’s language study during the summer by allowing them to work in an otherwise unpaid internship with a cultural institution (e.g.: Japan Society, Instituto Cervantes, The America’s Society, The Jewish Museum) that provides an opportunity for them to use (speak, read, write) the language that they have studied. The award may also be used for expenses associated with an internship or work opportunity abroad, provided that the student presents a budget that demonstrates the need for financial support in order to pursue such an experience. Undergraduate humanities majors of sophomore, junior or senior standing, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible.
