Description:
The Annapolis Region Community Arts Council is a nonprofit charitable organization founded in 1982. We are seeking a consultant to conduct a two-phase analysis of our annual Paint the Town event. Phase 1 will produce a community needs assessment. Phase 2 will produce a strategic plan through to the event’s 30th anniversary in August 2025.
Fee (Phases 1 & 2):
$12,000* or negotiable.
Job Type:
Self-employed contractor. There is no expectation of exclusivity. Fee payment will be tied to timely completion of key deliverables.
Key job activities for this position include:
- Conducting research and analysis of internal records and relevant public data (e.g. cultural, tourism, or regional development data).
- Interviews and surveys of past participants, stakeholders, and community members.
- Collaboration and coordination with staff.
- Collection, collation and analysis, and production of written reports.
The successful candidates will have:
- A minimum of a university undergraduate degree/post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
- Work experience and perspective in cultural industries and/or community development.
- Experience in strategic analysis and planning.
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising and financial statements.
- A high degree of self-confidence and professionalism.
- An ability to work autonomously while integrating with a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience and knowledge of Indigenous/Acadian/African Nova Scotian heritage is considered an asset.
- Past or current residence in Annapolis County or Digby County is an asset, but not required.
*Non-resident candidates could conduct much of this contract remotely, however some project components will require presence in Annapolis Royal. In such a case, per diems and travel will be discussed and may have an effect on fees.
