Join Magnetawan Watershed Land Trust and Georgian Bay Biosphere for a bioblitz at MapleCross Morris Nature Reserve! Become a citizen scientist by learning about local biodiversity, taking pictures of plants and animals, and sharing what you find. This information will help Magnetawan Watershed Land Trust manage their property effectively. We will explore the ecology that makes this area unique and use the citizen science app iNaturalist to record our observations!
This event will take place on June 22nd with a morning session running from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and an afternoon session from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. You may sign up for one or both sessions! Both sessions will be capped at 20 participants. This is a family-friendly event, appropriate for ages 10+.
PLEASE NOTE: The weather can be variable in June; please dress appropriately for the weather, wear appropriate footwear, and prepare for bugs. Please be advised that the area we will be hiking does not have maintained trails and may involve hiking over hills, inclines, and uneven surfaces. Information about meeting location and what to bring will be provided after registration.
