  • The 2023 Writers Conference will take place May 3-6, 2023. Students will join faculty, participating alumni guests, and industry professionals at the Timpanogos Lodge above Sundance for screenings, presentations, and discussions on an array of subjects related to media arts.

    Conference Fee: Thanks to a generous subsidy from TMA, the fee is now $100 for current students. The fee for Alumni is $200.
    Includes: Conference registration, meals, snacks, and optional lodging

    Registration is only open to current Theatre and Media Arts students, Animation Students, and invited alumni. Attendance is limited to registered conference attendees and department-invited guests only.

    Lodge capacity provides overnight accommodations for up to 62 students and day use for an additional 48 students, so registration will be restricted to the first 110 applicants. Only current BYU students may lodge overnight, and overnight accommodations will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.

    Daily activities are scheduled from 8:00 am to 10:30 pm; all meals and snacks are provided.

  • *Meatless options will be provided, but strict vegan diet accommodations cannot be guaranteed. Refrigerator/freezer storage space will be provided for vegan registrants wishing to bring their own meals.

TMA will review applications and admit students who meet the requirements for the conference by the order of application. You will receive confirmation in the following weeks letting you know if you have been accepted to attend the conference. At that point, we will process the registration fees for students.
