These pieces provide an insight into what I had been doing for an hour and a half each morning for each B-day we had. Making these helped me destress from the challenging day that would come and let me have fun doing it. The rabbit was originally made from the paint palette used to create a painting version of the self-portrait. It is looking backward at the flowers in the field or maybe another rabbit in another one of these paint palettes...

I created this Faberge Egg in Ceramics 2 for my mom. When I was younger, she would sing me to sleep with the song "You are My Sunshine". I wanted to encapsulate this song into my piece because it is one of my favorite memories I share with her. The focal point is the sun beaming, with raindrops from grey skies surrounding the lid of a heart growing. I dedicate this piece to my mom for showing me the importance of loving others and conveying her overflowing love to me through song.

I love art and it has been a passion of mine since I was a small child. I hope that one day soon, I can have a career in the art, animation, and with the cartoons I love to draw.

This year I chose to step outside of my comfort zone and focus my art on people, focusing specifically on my interpersonal relationships.

    Hugs: a semi-abstract interpretation
“Hugs” is an attempt to encapsulate the warmest and most memorable embraces I’ve experienced in my life. I challenged myself to reinvent how I felt the hug looked from the outside with nothing except the lingering memory of each hug. I focused on the general vibe and personality of each individual square did. The four figures (portrayed with minimal details for privacy)depicted are four people who have created meaningful change in my life.

    Summertime and Strawberries
This piece depicts one of my favorite people in the world: my girlfriend, aka my muse. I chose to capture one of my fondest memories with her in a painting. There are numerous imperfections but I feel that it adds to the liveliness of the image.

    Technoculture
“Technoculture" explores the question: does technology and modern innovation enhance culture, or destroy it? This painting is my creative interpretation of how technological hardware like wires and circuit boards would mesh with Chinese cultural attire and art. I took inspiration from traditional Chinese Manchu headpieces and Chinese ShanShui landscapes in painting the figure and background. Wires ripping through the traditional Chinese painting symbolizes how culture can be destroyed or lost as technology and modernism draws people away from it, while the circuit board headpiece symbolizes a peaceful coexistence between tradition and modernism.

    Humanity's Matricide
“Humanity’s Matricide” to symbolizes the ongoing climate crisis. I chose to personify Earth in this painting: the closed-eyed expression of the figure represents how the world chooses to remain ignorant of the environmental destruction happening all around them every day.

The Pear represents my mom. Ever since I was little all my memories of her at home included her eating a pear. Whenever I look at a pear it brings me joy and warmth, knowing that my Mom is always by my side.

Love Birds is a painting I made for my parents on their 22 anniversary. The birds represent them, and the the shape of the tree branches represents their love.
