  • Parent Pledge

    Brant Christian School’s goal is to partner with families to equip young people with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills which will enable them to become mature, productive members of society and effective witnesses for the Lord. Not every family benefits from our school, nor does the school benefit from every family. However, when the goals of the family match the goals of the school, it is a very successful and rewarding experience for all. Brant Christian School is a school of choice. If, by the actions and attitudes shown, a family’s or student’s goals do not match that of the school, they maybe asked to withdraw from this community. The following commitment must be signed by at least one parent from each family that attends or desires to attend Brant Christian School.

    With God’s help I will do my best to do the following:

    1. I will ensure that my child(ren) regularly attend(s) school and arrive at school on time;

    2. I will ensure that my lifestyle is in line with the expectations in the Parent pledge and I will diligently encourage my child(ren) to follow the Student Pledge;

    3. I will practice the principle found in Matthew 18, resolving any difficulties with school personnel directly and in a timely manner, within 14 days if possible. I will direct any concerns, questions, or criticisms to the person(s) responsible in grace and patience. If the conflict is unresolved, I/we will discuss the matter with the next person in authority. Generally, the line of authority is as follows: teacher, principal, and the Society Board;

    4. I will support the school in maintaining a high standard of Christian conduct for its students. I acknowledge that should my child(ren)’s behavior, while under the supervision of school personnel, become incompatible with the standards of BCS it may be considered grounds for suspension or expulsion. No attempt will be made by the school to usurp my responsibility for the discipline of my child (ren), however, when information regarding unacceptable out-of-school behavior is freely discussed at school by students, it will be considered an area of school responsibility. After careful investigation to verify the facts, subsequent disciplinary action is expected. I acknowledge the position of the school is that student behavior at all times and in all places reflects on his/her parents, BCS, and the much broader cause of Christianity;

    5. We recognize the school’s right to dismiss any student who does not cooperate with the educational process, transportation policy, or behavioral expectations of the school.

    6. I fully agree with the Statement of Faith of Brant Christian School and desire the school to partner with us in the total education of our child(ren);

    7. I will attend functions requiring my participation, such as parent/student/teacher interviews, duly called meetings, and other society functions that are required. I will cooperate in fund-raising and work projects, and will regularly uphold Brant Christian School in prayer;

    8. I recognize that if I volunteer to transport students, I will ensure that I have current driver’s licenses and a minimum of $2,000,000 public liability and property damage insurance, and are willing to obtain a driver abstract.

    9. I understand that registration fees and busing fees must be paid in advance and that the fees paid up to the end of the month in which a child is withdrawn are non-refundable. If withdrawing your student from busing you must give the treasurer notice on the 1st of the previous month. For example, if you are withdrawing for Feb. you must give notice Jan. 1st or you will be charged for Feb. fees.

    10. I hereby consent to have my child(ren) participate in school related events and trips away from the school under the supervision of the staff and volunteers. I am also aware that I will be notified in writing before any of these events take place, and my signature of permission will be required before my child(ren) may participate.

    11. I hereby authorize Brant Christian School to call an ambulance and arrange for emergency medical care in case I am not immediately available.

    I/We have read this Parent Pledge and the handbook, and agree to abide by them and support them.

  • Mission Statement

    “Brant Christian School is a unique learning environment committed to academic excellence from a Biblical worldview,assisting parents and the church in preparing graduates of integrity and godliness; ambassadors for Christ and His Kingdom.”

    STATEMENT OF FAITH

    We believe that our Statement of Faith forms the basis for sound Biblical instruction.

    1. We believe the 66 Canonical Books of the Protestant Bible to be the inspired and only infallible authoritative written Word of God. II Timothy 3:16,17

    2. We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14

    3. We believe that the universe originated by the creative act of God as revealed in Holy Scriptures, and that the form of every kind of life was fixed at the time of its creation. Genesis 1:1, John 1:1

    4. We believe in the true deity and true humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His pre-existence, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His future visible return in power and glory. Colossians 1:13-20, John 1:14

    5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. 1 Timothy 2:5

    6. We believe that all men are lost and sinful, and that salvation is received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and by the act of regeneration of life by the Holy Spirit of God. Romans 3:23-26, Titus 3:5.

    7. We believe that by the present indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, and that every believer should practice the holiness which God requires. Ephesians 1:13-14, Romans 8:1-4, Romans 12:1-2, Titus 2:11-13

    8. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life; and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. John 5:25, 28-29

    9. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. John 17:23, I Corinthians 12:12-13

    10. We believe that, individually and corporately, we are called to the task of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to people of all languages and nationalities with a view to their salvation. Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 2:39; II Cor. 5:20; II Timothy 4:5.

    We recognize that there are other interpretations, convictions, and doctrines professed by Christians, which they believe to be consistent with the above. However, such beliefs shall not be promoted by Brant Christian School, though they may be respectfully discussed.

    Christian Education:

    Implicit in Christian education are these basic truths:

    a. Man does possess a spiritual dimension.

    b. Education involves the total being: spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social aspects of man, that is, the “whole man”.

    c. Each person possesses unique individual potential traits and needs.

    d. The educational experience must include a primary emphasis on the development of Christian beliefs, attitudes, character and skills.

    e. An integration of Biblical truth will be an inseparable and primary part of the total educational process. Christian concepts will be unified with, inseparable from and central to the academic program.

    f. Youth need a consistant influence while preparing to live in a complex society. Only the Bible has the answers to man’s needs and longings, and therefore will serve as our final authority on all questions.

    Skill Development:

    All students, regardless of ability, should have the opportunity to develop skills in order to take meaningful roles in their community. Skill development enables students to realize their individual potential for service to others. Preparation for success in post-secondary education is vital because skills will often need to be developed through further education.

    Christian Community:

    Community standards for staff and students participating in the alternative program at Brant Christian School will be modelled, and based on the clear teachings of the Bible.

    I/We, agree with the above Statement of Faith of Brant Christian School.
