Two Scholarships for Nursing Students
Deaconess Illinois Crossroads will be awarding a total of two scholarships to in-district college students accepted into the associate degree nursing program at a local college in Southern Illinois. Please complete the application below to be considered.
Up to $4,000 Each Semester
Deaconess Illinois Crossroads will pay up to $4,000 per semester for four (4) semesters for nursing students to attend a local college in Southern Illinois to achieve an Associate Degree in nursing. Students must be in good standing (with a C or better) to receive each semester scholarship. Passing the NCLEX and obtaining Illinois State Licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse is required after the completion of the associate degree nursing program at a local college, followed by a two-year commitment to work at Deaconess Illinois Crossroadsl as a Registered Nurse in Med-Surg, ED, Surgery, or ICU. If Deaconess Illinois Crossroads does not have any hospital positions open in nursing, the Chief Nursing Officer can approve the two-year commitment to be allowed in one of our Rural Health Clinics or other hospital locations within the system. Scholarship awardees will be given preference to the nurse extern positions in their second year of coursework.

4. To be considered for this scholarship, I accept the paid two-year work agreement for after graduation at Deaconess Illinois Hospital. (If a position is not available in my field of study after graduation - the commitment is nullified.)

In applying for this scholarship, I understand that Deaconess Illinois Crossroads may need to verify the information I have submitted. I grant permission to the college that I have been accepted to and listed above to release my academic transcript, class schedule, fee statement and financial aid information to Deaconess Illinois Crossroads. I grant permission to Deaconess Illinois Crossroads Scholarship Committee to seek verification and understand that any deliberate falsification of this information will result in my disqualification from the field of eligible candidates. I release to Deaconess Illinois Crossroads the right to use my name and picture for publications, reports and press releases. Deaconess Illinois Crossroads will pay up to $4,000 per semester for four (4) semesters for nursing students to attend a local college's nursing program.
