If you are a NEW MEMBER then MEMBERSHIP COSTS £10 and is payable when you collect your MEMBERSHIP CARD from the centre on your first swim - you only pay membership ONCE - it is a LIFE MEMBERSHIP and you WILL NOT NEED to pay if you are NOT a new member AND bring your existing MEMBERSHIP CARD with you on your first visit this year

PLEASE NOTE - NEW MEMBERSHIP CARDS are COLLECTED from the centre on your first visit. We DO NOT POST THESE OUT or send VIA EMAIL.

You will require your PREVIOUS ISSUED MEMBERSHIP CARD to claim your FREE 2023 membership - If you have lost it or thrown it away then the £10 charge applies to replace it.

To complete this form you must be over 16 years of age, if you are under 16 then you need to be added to the JUNIOR SECTION of this form by your parent or a person with parental permission.

It will take a few minutes to work through the application and AGREE OUR RULES & RECOMMENDATIONS for use of the facilities these are a CONDITION OF USE and must be agreed prior to membership acceptance.

If you cannot agree to the RULES & RECOMMENDATIONS then we are sorry, but they are a condition of entry and cannot be changed.

PLEASE NOTE - you MAY exerience some 'lag' while completing the form, this is normal as our database is updating in the background and is affected by things like number of users and the available bandwith or speed of your internet connection.

We keep the collection of your personal data to a minimum and we only ask you for data that we require to determine your application to use our facilties.

We are the DATA CONTROLLER

JOTFORM Inc. is the DATA PROCESSOR

We only store your data in an ONLINE DATABASE that is GDPR compliant and is controlled by JOTFORM who process our forms for us.

We do not print or move your data and ensure that only staff who require access to it to determine your application, to check you are a member or in an emergency are able to view your data.

We will remove you from our swim members database within 7 days of you notifying us in person, by email, telephone call or post that you no longer wish to use our swim facilities but only on receipt of your MEMBERS CARD which must be retured to use BEFORE we delete your data.

We reserve the right to use your data to contact you if you request us to cancel your membership but do not return your MEMBERS CARD.

Once removed you will not be able to use our facilities unless you make another application for membership which may not automactically be accepted.

1, Swimmers are advised to stay within 20 feet (6 m) of the bank at all times so you can make you way to the 'bail out' steps that are situated every 200 metres around the lake if you need to abandon your swim.
2, Swimmers are advised to wear a swim hat so we can spot you in the water easily.
3, Swimmers must hand in their MEMERSHIP CARD card when they sign in and wear the numbered wrist band provided at all times when in the water.
4, Swimmers are advised to swim with a ‘buddy’ if new to open water swimming.
5, Swimmers may deviate from the prescribed course (marked by buoys in each corner of the lake) and ‘cross’ the lake at any point but MUST swim in a clock wise direction and not against oncoming swimmers.
6, Swimmers MUST stop and render assistance to any swimmer in difficulty.
7, If you are in difficulty make your way to the nearest bank and wave your arms if possible.
8, If you are new to open water swimming please make staff aware.
9, If you are a new or ‘weak’ swimmer - stay near the bank and swim a shorter course.
10, Please advise staff of any changes in your personal details on arrival including any changes in your medical circumstances that may affect your participation on the day.
11, Swimming starts at the stated time - no swimmer may enter the water before this time.
12, Swimming finishes at the stated time - all swimmers must be out of the water by this time.
13, No swimming will commence unless staff have given permission and you have signed in.
14, Swimmers MUST sign in and PAY before entering the water.
15, Swimmers MUST hand in their wristband at the end of their swim and collect their MEMBERSHIP CARD.

I fully accept that the use of the facilities is at my own risk, I understand that outdoor swimming can be considered an ‘adventure sport’ and that an element of risk is inherent in the activity and cannot be totally removed. I accept this risk by signing this membership application.
I accept that injuries caused by ‘slips & trips’ such as minor cuts while entering or exiting the water on my feet/hands/legs/arms are an ‘acceptable risk’ associated with my participation and I accept these risks. I understand these are a ‘normal’ part of participation in an adventure sport in the outdoor environment.
