, agree to take full responsibility for the safety of the student participating. We recognize that In-Sight will do its best to teach all participants the art of photography with as much care and safety as is reasonably possible. In-Sight staff and volunteer instructors will take reasonable care and precautions to maintain student safety. As accidents do happen, we agree not to hold In-Sight, its staff, or volunteers legally responsible for the safety of the participant. If a student cannot meet safety expectations, we'll need to have a conversation about continued participation in the class.
Downtown Travel Permission
In-Sight Photography Project’s central, downtown location allows for our classes to often leave the premises and take photos around town, weather permitting. This may also include visiting the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center as well as various other galleries in the immediate downtown area. Your student’s safety is of utmost importance, and students will remain within seeing and hearing range of instructors. If any class hopes to travel further than downtown, we will reach in advance with more details and to obtain permission for each field trip.
Vehicle Travel Permission
For the summer, we were able to rent a large SUV to help us in getting to fun and exciting locations to photograph within a half-hour drive from In-Sight. Your student’s safety is of utmost importance, and students will only be driven by licensed, full-time In-Sight staff members. On location, students will remain within seeing and hearing range of instructors. Before each class this summer, we will reach out with an itinerary for the week to let you know where the class is going, and trips will bring first aid supplies and emergency contact information.

Equipment Release
As part of the benefits of taking an In-Sight class, students are able to borrow equipment from In-Sight. However, they can also use their own! If you have questions about whether or not your personal camera will work for a class, please contact Executive Director, Emily Wagner, before the start of class (emily@insight-photography.org).Parents/guardians and students take full responsibility for the photographic equipment students borrow from In-Sight Photography Project. Anything lost or broken will need to be replaced, and we will expect. Equipment should be returned by the end of the last class unless other arrangements are made.
Content Disclaimer
Art is expressive and can sometimes elicit intense emotions. It is the priority of In-Sight staff and instructors to make the classroom a welcoming space for all students by managing these topics appropriately. We will not allow nudity or depictions of harm to be shown in the classroom. Additionally, if a student makes an In-Sight staff member aware of abuse or neglect, it is our responsibility as mandated reporters to share this information with Vermont DCF.
