1: Harnessing the Power of Play: A Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) Collaobrative led by Kristi Mraz
Calling all Transitional Kinder (TK), Pre-Kinder (PK) educators! Join Kristi Mraz and fellow teachers and leaders on a joyous exploration of practical, playful and powerful developmentally rigorous practices in the Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) initiative.
These three days will be jam-packed with collaboration amongst teachers from across districts as we discuss common challenges and best practices in: room environment, schedule, curriculum, guided play, outdoor play, and more!
2: Introduction to Teaching Writing for Young Emergent Writers (K-2)
Calling all primary teachers! That's you Kindergarten, first, and second grade teachers! Join the Read. Write. Think with Renee team and fellow teachers and leaders as you dig into a practical overview for teaching young writers to write!
These three days will place you in the writer's seat as you experience the writing process firsthand. We will support you in turning your experience into explicit strategies to teach young writers.
3: Introduction to Teaching Writing for Elementary and Adolescent Writers (3-8)
This one is for the teachers of elementary and adolescent students - AKA the "big kids"! Join the Read. Write. Think with Renee team and fellow teachers and leaders as you dig into a practical overview for teaching adolescent writers to write!
These three days will place you in the writer's seat as you experience the writing process firsthand. We will support you in turning your experience into explicit strategies to teach writers how to write in a processed approach.
4: How to Design Yearlong, Effective Test Prep Boot Camps
This course is for everyone, but probably best suited for teachers in testing grades. Join Renee Houser and fellow teachers and leaders to think through how we can design a strategic, yearlong curriculum that includes both implicit and explicit teaching of test-taking strategies.
These three days will offer an oppportunity to refresh your approach to test prep and will help you design boot camps that set students up to experience success like never before.
