Pre-booking Information. Logo
  • Pre-booking Information.

Please read before committing to booking your tattoo.
  • Deposit information.

Deposits go towards the cost of the tattoo on the day and are non-refundable. There is also a £2 card charge added on. If you would prefer to pay it with cash, please let me know.

I am always happy to move your appointment and deposit if you give me as much notice as possible, however, failure to let me know within 48 hours can result in your deposit being lost. You will be able to move your appointment up to 3 times before your deposit will be lost.

Tattoo Artists are self employed & represent themselves as sole traders. Their admin & pre-tattoo prep is included in the deposit cost, if their appointments are cancelled or rescheduled they are operating at a loss for that day.

If I am unable to make your appointment, you will be offered an alternative date to rebook or a refund.

  • You will need valid photo ID to bring to your appointment.
    Driving license or passport.

  • Location, Parking and Travel information.

I have marked all the roads that have free all day parking with a green line on the map below. The road the shop is on is free for one hour only, there is a traffic warden that patrols the area regularly. It is more of a quiet residential area with a school so please be respectful this.

The following bus routes regularly pass near Old Mill Road; 12, 22, 35C. There are a couple of stops just a few minutes walk away.

If you are coming by train, then there are 2 train stations very close by. Torre and Torquay are both a 15 minute walk away from the studio.

  • Payment Information.

Unfortunatley we do not have a card machine at the studio.

Cash is prefered, however I can take payment via Bank Transfer or Paypal.

There is a cash machine opposite the studio, however it does have a £1 charge to withdraw anything.

  • We do not allow under 18's in the studio.
The only exceptions are for some pre-planned piercings.

  • We have limited wheelchair access.

If this is something that effects you, please email before making any appointments to make sure we can do our best to accomodate you.
Unfortunately our bathroom isn't big enough for wheelchair use and we don’t own the building or have permission to change it.

  • Memorial & Recovery Tattoos

I am very happy to do these tattoos, however, sometimes I do recommend waiting 6-12 months before committing to this type of tattoo. Occasionally a grieving/trauma state of mind isn't ready for the tattoo process. I want you to have a tattoo you are happy with and ready for.

  • Moles & scars

We cannot tattoo over moles & some scarring, please check the area to be tattooed before booking. If you are unsure please contact me to see if we can tattoo this area.

  • On the Day.

Please arrive on time (not too early) to reduce the amount of time spent in our waiting room or outside. Please come straight in when you do arrive.
If you are more than 30 mins late for your appointment you will need to book for another time and pay a new deposit.

    IMPORTANT:

    • Please shower with antibacterial soap before your appointment.
    • Moisturise the area to be tattooed for the week before your tattoo.
    • Make sure you have a decent breakfast, high protein and long-lasting carbs will be your friend. Tattoos take it out of you, so you're going to need the energy!
    • Try and get a good night's sleep before your appointment, tiredness can affect your pain tolerance.
    • Please do not drink heavily the evening before your tattoo.
    • Please refrain from using fake tan one week prior to your appointment.
    • Please do not go sunbathing or on a sunbed two days before your appointment. If you have sunburn I cannot tattoo you.
    • We cannot tattoo you if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
Please tell me if you are planning a holiday in the two weeks after your tattoo.
    • Please do not organise an event straight after your tattoo, we cannot control how long your appointment will be, sometimes we run over.
    • Every tattoo comes with a free touch-up (within a year of original work) anything after the first year will be charged our minimum price.
    • Bring along some sugary snacks and drinks.  (Lucozade sport is my personal go-to!)
    • Wear something dark that you aren't too bothered about as sometimes the ink can stain clothing. Also, make sure the area you are getting tattooed is comfortable and easily accessible.
  • Aftercare products.

We have tins Yayo available for tattoo healing for £3 each or 2 for £5. We also have Whitfields Cooling Gel for £5 a jar. It's great for the first 2-3 days after having the tattoo. (I absolutley love this stuff!)

I also have the option of using Saniderm/Second skin.

Please bring the correct change if you are planning to purchase any of these products.

  • Aftercare information.

    Amie Leonhardt Tattooist
  • Looking after your tattoo is just as important as the tattooing process.

if you would like yours to heal well, please follow these instructions depending on which healing method you have chosen:

    Clingfilm:

    • Keep the clingfilm on for at least 2 hours or until you are home.
    • After this time remove cling film, use clean hands, warm water and antibacterial soap to remove excess ink.
    • Always use a shower, never soak in the bath.
    • Allow to air dry or use a clean towel (no sharing) – make sure the tattoo is completely dry.
    • Clean your tattoo every 3 hours if possible. Add a thin layer of aftercare (This is the cooling gels prime time) and then re-wrap with fresh clingfilm each time. - Do this for a minimum of three days & nights, do not clingfilm that tattoo for longer than 6 hours at a time.
    • Following this apply a thin layer of aftercare or cocoa butter for the next two weeks - please do this three times a day with clean hands, do not smother the tattoo with cream, only a thin layer is needed.
    • If you have any excessive redness/heat or swelling in this time, remove the dressing & contact me or your gp to check for allergy/infection.

    Saniderm / Second Skin

This one is a bit easier as there is less to remember. However this is all still really important if you want the best results. It works by trapping your bodies natural plasma with the tattoo to help promote faster healing.

    • Leave the bandage on for 24 hours after the tattoo.
    • Remove the bandage, then with clean hands and antibacterial soap clean the tattoo then air dry.
    • Apply a second piece of Saniderm/Second Skin, this can be left on for up to 5 days.
    • Do not pick at the edges.
    • If you notice any gaps in the bandage where it is no longer air tight it needs to be removed, cleaned and replaced.
    • If you have any excessive redness/heat or swelling in this time, remove the dressing & contact me or your gp to check for allergy/infection.
    • Apply aftercare cream to the tattoo 3 times a day for a few days after you remove the bandage as the skin will be dry.

    Removing Saniderm

The best and easiest way to remove the Saniderm bandage is to take it off as you would a command strip. Instead of puling it back on itself like a wax strip, pull parallel your skin to stretch it and make it easier to remove.

Clean any residue that may be left gently, with clean hands and antibacterial soap.

  • Other things to note:

    •  A tattoo is an open wound and will become itchy when healing, do not scratch it as this may damage the tattoo.
    • Do not use fake tan, perfume or cosmetics on your fresh tattoo. This could cause an infection or damage the tattoo.
    • Do not go swimming or use a sunbed for two weeks after getting the tattoo.
    • Do not go to the gym for the first week, if you do get sweaty try to clean the tattoo asap, heat and sweat is a breeding ground for bacteria.
    • If you have any concerns about infection, please contact me immiediately and send an email with pictures of how you are healing.
    • Ink will come out of your tattoo for the first few days of healing be aware this could ruin your bedsheets or clothes.
    • If you would like an alternative healing cream please ask your tattooist for advice.

I offer touch ups up to 1 year after the initial tattoo appointment. After the first year, there will be at least a minimum charge.

  • Should be Empty:
