  • Join Central Florida Mutual Aid!

  • Central Florida Mutual Aid is a collective of regular folx in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties practicing mutual aid. CFLMA aims to be democratic, decentralized, and non-hierarchical. For CFLMA, mutual aid has three crucial elements: collaborating to meet each other's needs, having a shared understanding that the systems we live within are oppressive and not meeting our needs, and working together to strategically address root causes and bring about radical change. We center the voices and needs of those most impacted by systems of oppression, which is why we need to hear YOUR voice as we engage in the work of collective liberation.
  • Please note we are looking for people who can actively participate in our organizing work. New members have three (3) months to become active in our organizing work. Anyone who is not participating in meetings, projects, events, and/or roles after three (3) months will be considered inactive and removed from the Signal chat and Discord server for the security of our members and communication platforms.

CFLMA's needs and opportunities are ever-evolving, and completing this form will help us figure out how to welcome you in! Please reach out to cfl@mutualaid.community with any questions. We ask for some personal info below because we are building a community based on transparency and accountability. Regarding the security of your information, this form is encrypted and an access key is required to view responses.

Before completing this application, carefully read through and consider Central Florida Mutual Aid's Charter and Harm Resolution Process.

Please note that we process applications once a month, so it may be 1-4 weeks before you hear from us via text message (depending on when you apply during that cycle).

  • We do not expect everyone joining CFLMA to have the same knowledge, skills, or experiences, and we honor each other's growing edges. We are all always learning, we will make mistakes, and we can hold each other accountable and create a shared understanding, with compassion. Keep that in mind as you respond to the questions below, as we are not expecting perfect or researched answers!

  • Working Group Selection

The work of Central Florida Mutual Aid will be shared by the three working groups, which will each approach the project from their own strengths. Please choose the working group that aligns with your strengths and interests. If torn between favoring strengths vs interests, go with interests! CFLMA wants our members to enjoy what they do and grow their knowledge/expertise in line with what excites them. Everyone in Central Florida Mutual Aid must be in at least one working group. While anyone may participate in any project in any group, we ask that there be one core group that you are committed to supporting with your time and effort. (If you want to change your working group at any time, you are welcome to do so!)
