As a child care provider, you know as well as anyone how important high-quality, reliable child care is to families in your community. Federal pandemic relief provided a critical lifeline to providers and families, but that funding will soon expire, making a significant state investment in child care even more urgent.

Legislators need to hear from you about the importance of funding child care! You are the expert—you know firsthand the value of high-quality child care.

This form is for those providers interested in writing a letter to let your elected officials know the importance of the work you do and the need for Georgia to invest in child care. Although there is no official deadline, please submit ASAP. The legislative session ends later this month and decisions are being made now. Your letter will be printed out and hand-delivered to your legislators.

A couple of things to note:

PLEASE WRITE IN FULL SENTENCES in the boxes below
We will address your letter "Senator X" or "Representative Y"
The same language will be used for letters to both your state senator and your state representative

First Paragraph: Introduce yourself and your child care center/family child care learning home, including the city where you are located, the number and ages of the children you serve, and how many years you've been in business. If applicable, be sure to mention that you participate in CAPS! *

Second Paragraph: Talk about why #GANeedsChildCare! Considering sharing: the importance of high-quality child care on the families you serve; how the end of improvements made through relief to CAPS (increased reimbursement rates, number of children served) will impact families and your program; and the need to improve access for families and reimbursement rates for providers. Feel free to tell a story!*

Third Paragraph: Make the ask! Using your own words ask the legislator to include additional state funding for the CAPS Program in the FY 2025 budget.*
