  DESCRIPTION: Students will be participating in an 1.5 hour long Marine Life program @ West Edmonton Mall. We will be participating in the ‘Passport to Adventure’ program where students will visit marine life, have a private presentation with a special animal friend, as well as watch the sea lion show. Students may not have time for a snack, so please ensure your child has a healthy filling meal prior to the field trip. Notes: Remember to take your child to the bathroom right before coming to school or at school as a last resort as there are no toilets on the school bus. DEPARTURE: Students arrive at school 10 minutes prior to the bus departure. The bus will depart at 8:45am (students arrive by 8:35AM) for the AM class and at 12:15pm (students arrive by 12:05 PM) for the PM class. Students dropped off at their classroom as per normal but will keep on all outdoor gear except for shoes. The teachers will take attendance and board the school bus. The school bus will leave promptly at the scheduled time and will not be waiting for late arrivals. Students will be outside just walking to and from the bus. The rest of the field trip will be indoors. RETURN: Students will arrive back to their classrooms and be dismissed at regular class end time. Volunteers are free to take their child home upon return. Parents can pick up their children at regular dismissal time or earlier if the bus returns earlier. SUPERVISION: Staff attending have their current first aid and will have a first aid kit with them at all times. We also require and encourage parent/family member volunteers on this trip. If the minimum ratio requirements set out above cannot be maintained, the trip will be cancelled. Dress Code: dress students comfortably in clothes that allow them to move easily and freely. Adults and students should wear closed-toe/backed footwear due to walking, stairs, and slippery wet floors. Special Note: The Marine Life Program at West Edmonton Mall has strict capacity requirements of 30 persons per room including students and staff. We will be combining classes, so we may hit this limit without volunteers. Due to this constraint, not all volunteers may be permitted to participate in some of the planned activities, but we do still need assistance to help with getting on/off the bus, the walk through the mall, and most importantly bathroom runs. We welcome adult volunteers to join us on this field trip, but numbers may be limited for what we can accept. Check with your child's teacher If you are able to volunteer, please fill out the volunteer section of the form. While we have no restrictions on the number of volunteers, we do have limited seating on the school bus, so some volunteers may have to drive to West Edmonton Mall.   DESCRIPTION:
  Students will be participating in a 1.5 hour long program @ Muttart Conservatory.
  
  We will be participating in the ‘ Little Ladybugs & Friends’ program where students will Get to know all about ladybugs and beneficial insects at the Muttart Conservatory. Discover the importance of ladybugs through games and activities. You'll top this fabulous program off by potting a plant to take home in honour of our insect friends.
  
  Students may not have time for a snack, so please ensure your child has a healthy filling meal prior to the field trip. 
   
  Notes: Remember to take your child to the bathroom right before coming to school or at school as a last resort as there are no toilets on the school bus.

  Students to arrive at school at least 15 minutes prior to the bus departure. Please ensure your child has eaten and goes to the bathroom either before or upon arrival at school.
  
  Staff will take attendance and board the school bus. The school bus will leave promptly at the time indicated above. The bus will not be waiting for late arrivals.

  Please note that in order to participate in this field trip, students must bring a bike helmet, a snack bag, and a water bottle
- Planned Activity
  DESCRIPTION: Students will be going to The Makery to engage in interactive learning opportunities, fostering creativity and critical thinking. Students will be outside for just walking to and from the bus. The rest of the field trip will be indoors. SUPERVISION: Staff attending have their current first aid and will have a first aid kit with them at all times. There will also be parent volunteers on this trip. If the desired ratio cannot be maintained, the trip will be cancelled. Dress Code: dress students comfortably in clothes that allow them to move easily and freely. Volunteers are needed.
