Who are Pearson?

We are Pearson – an education company that develops activities and games for children and adults of all ages. Once published, our tools help education and healthcare professionals in their work.

Our Current Project

We are currently redeveloping a tool which explores speech and language in young children. We are looking for children aged between 3 years and 6 years 11 months, to learn about their communication skills. By testing large numbers of children, we can understand how children typically perform. Once published, it will be used by professionals to help those who require further support.

Taking part is easy!

Sign up using this form. If your child is chosen, one of our team will contact you to arrange a session that will last between 30 and 60 minutes.
The session can take place at your home, or another convenient location, like a local library (we'll cover any travel costs).
One of our qualified, security-checked, staff will do some fun, age-appropriate activities with your child.
You will also be asked to complete two short questionnaires regarding your child's speech and language during the session.
Once the session is complete, Pearson will email you a £20 voucher as a thank you!

How will my information be used?

All the information you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence. The results of your child's assessment will not be given to any third party, and will not affect their day-to-day life. The results will be anonymised and only used for statistical purposes by the research team in order to create comparison scores (e.g. scores will not be used for diagnostic purposes). We will be unable to give you the results of your child's assessment for this reason.

Your child's contribution will be extremely valuable as these tests will provide professionals with up-to-date assessments. Participation in this research project is entirely voluntary. You are free to withdraw at any time without giving a reason, resulting in all information provided being destroyed.
