  • March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and St. Joseph Hospital has partnered with the American Cancer Society to bring a special, educational event to the hospital from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28th.

The highlight of the event will include a giant, inflatable colon visitors can walk through to learn about colon cancer and other diseases affecting the intestinal tract.

Experts now agree that starting at age 45, you should be getting screened for colon cancer every 10 years even if you have zero risk factors or family history. Colon cancer is the 2nd leading cause of Cancer death in the United States — and is one of the only cancers that is preventable, treatable and beatable when caught early!

Please feel free to stop by anytime during the day.  We'll have our expert staff on hand to answer your questions and we'll even have some special treats for our visitors!
