REGIONAL SHOW:  WILD!!!

What does Wild mean to you?
Is it an animal, a landscape, the use of color, a feeling? Maybe it's a technique that brought you so out of your comfort zone, made you feel wild? Have you ever looked at something and said, "That's Wild!" ... What about it made you feel that way? Let's go WILD!

ELIGIBILITY- This show is open to all artists (18 years old and older) and features these categories:

• 2D (flat works, paintings, mixed media, fiber, photography etc.)
• 3D (sculpture, wood turning, pottery etc.)
• This is a JURIED show: jurors may exclude any entries of their choosing. Some, all, or none of your submissions may be accepted into this show by the jurors. You may submit up to three pieces for consideration. Submission fee is non-refundable.
• While the Show will be live and in-person in our gallery, the submission process is ONLINE only using JOTFORM

IMPORTANT DATES

• ONLINE submissions due: July 1 - August 10
• Email notification of accepted works: August 21-23
• Drop off accepted works: Sept 6 - 7 (11am 5pm)
• Wine & Cheese Reception & Awards: Saturday, September 21 from 6 - 7:30 pm
• Pickup: Friday - Saturday, Oct 25 - 26 (11am - 5pm)

APPLICATION FEE for up to three works - pay below: $30 for members; $35 for non-members

Only one application per artist is allowed.  

AWARDS:

• BEST IN SHOW: $400
• Cash prizes - (first, second and third place in each category) also awarded in these categories:
  • 2-D: "flat" works, paintings, mixed media, fiber, photography etc.
  • 3-D: works that can viewed from all sides: sculpture, pottery, wood works etc.

APPROVAL BY COMMITTEE:

The MWCA gallery committee reserves the right at drop-off to reject any artwork due to size (no larger than 40" x 40", framed), or weight limitations or inappropriateness. Even if juried into the show via our online process, if the piece presented at drop-off does not meet all guidelines or does not present as shown in photos, the work will not be allowed into the show.

SECURITY: Reasonable security is provided for the duration of the exhibition. Care will be taken in the handling, hanging and displaying of the work. However, MWCA will not be held responsible or liable for the loss or damage of any art. Artwork left longer than 30 days after the closing of the show will become the property of MWCA.

REQUIREMENTS

We reserve the right to refuse any work not meeting these specifications. Art must hang for the duration of the show. All artwork (even fiber) must be delivered ready to be hung.

• All work must be original, not previously shown at MWCA, completed entirely without assistance.
• Works are not allowed that were produced during workshops or classes. Works produced in Open Studios are acceptable.
• Fiber arts: Works made from patterns and general directions for knitting, weaving, macrame, quilting, rug hooking etc. are permitted; however, works made from kits are not. Must be ready to hang with any needed hardware provided. Maximum size for fiber works: 42" x 80" (including hardware) unless the piece can be folded.
• All flat work must have a wire on the back. (No saw tooth hangers.)  
• Photography on metal is the exception and may have a sawtooth or other easy-to-hang hardware.
• Maximum size: 40"X 40", framed. Work that is not secured into the frame will not be hung.
• Work must not weigh over 50 pounds including any mounting hardware and/or armature.
• If you choose to enter work on a non-framed canvas, paint must be on the edges. Attach wire onto the back frame of the canvas.
• All paint must be dry.
• Charcoal & pastels must be fixed.
• Sculpture must be sturdy and able to stand on its own.
• MWCA takes a 25% on all sales, so please price accordingly.
• We strongly encourage that you submit works that are available for sale as we limit the number of not-for-sale pieces accepted into the final exhibition to about 10%.
• Works must remain for the entire duration of the show.
• Works not picked up will be considered property of MWCA unless prior arrangements are made.

This is YOUR show!

• We have learned that the ARTISTS must promote their own shows to really increase visibility and participation!
• Promote this show via your own social media, email lists etc.
• Share MWCA's Facebook posts to your own business and personal pages and other groups you may be a part of.
• Invite your friends and family to visit anytime we are open and especially to the reception!
• Email a brief bio about yourself and a statement about your works to hope@monroeartguild.org.

All submissions must be filled out via this form. MWCA can not accept any physical art submissions. 

If you are having trouble filling out the form, please stop by MWCA, or call us, and we will be happy to assist you! You may also schedule an appointment with the staff to come fill out the form in person. We can assist with photographing and will have a computer for you to use.
