LSPCA Foster Application

Thank you for your interest in fostering. By choosing to foster a, you are helping save lives. To be considered for fostering, we have several requirements and request that you complete this application so that we may pair you with the most suitable foster pet(s).

Foster Requirements:

Fosters must be 21 years of age or older.
Non-smoking homes only.
Must reside within 90 minutes (driving distance) of Lancaster, SC.
If you rent your home, you must provide written consent from your landlord to have a dog or cat on the premises.
All dogs and cats in the home six months or older must be spayed or neutered.
All pets in the home must be up to date on all vaccinations, including Bordetella (Kennel Cough), heartworm prevention & flea/tick prevention.
Dog fosters should have a physical fence in place so the dog(s) have a safe place to run, play, and potty. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.
A home visit may be required.

LSPCA will:

Provide all pet food
Provide all necessary supplies
Provide all vetting
Provide support for every foster to ensure a positive outcome for the pet and the foster

All of the information I have given is true and complete. This dog will reside in my home as a foster pet. I will provide it with food, plenty of fresh water, indoor shelter and affection.

Foster Waiver: Thank you for completing the foster application. We could only accomplish our rescue mission with fosters like you. Because this is a rescue, we do not know the animal's entire background and if the animal was a stray, we do not know what kind of situations it encountered or what it may have been exposed to. If they came from another home, we do not know if it may have been a situation involving abuse or neglect. As a foster, you must be prepared to be patient and understanding with your fosters as you help them learn what a loving environment is. We will do our best to perform all medical testing and vaccination appropriate for our animals before they go to a foster home. We will provide the most accurate medical information available to us. However, because Lancaster SCPA (LSPCA) cannot know of all medical or behavioral conditions, we ask that you acknowledge the following disclaimer: By agreeing to take a foster animal(s) into my home, I agree to hold harmless any person or persons, including the Lancaster SPCA, involved in the foster process of this animal. The LSPCA has not made any representations regarding any animal, and no promises as to his/her temperament or health, and is not responsible for any injuries that may occur as a result of the actions of the animal or any health issues.

I understand that any foster animals in my care are the property of Lancaster SPCA and can be removed from my care at any time, for any reason. Fostering an animal does not guarantee the ability to adopt. All fosters must complete an adoption application and complete the same process as anyone else interested in adopting. Further, I, the applicant of this foster application with the LSPCA, warrant the truthfulness of the information provided.
