The IAABC Foundation has established an outstanding reputation for quality and ethical conduct. Credit for this goes to every one of our volunteers, and we hope you will find accomplishment and take pride in your work here as well.
History
The IAABC Foundation was founded in 2020 as a nonprofit charitable organization. It split off from the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) professional association, and is a completely separate and distinct organization. In fact, the “IAABC” in “IAABC Foundation” is just that - we’re not “the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants Foundation.” We only have the initials in our name legally: The IAABC Foundation!
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to inspire, develop, and provide quality, evidence-based education, research, and other charitable activities in animal training and behavior.
Additionally, it is incumbent upon us to improve upon the status quo by opening opportunities and widening the sphere of knowledge and understanding for professionals and those interested in and new to the field. The IAABC Foundation is about improving the lives of all animals, including human animals. The wellbeing of both humans and animals is necessary for either to thrive.
Core Values
The IAABC Foundation's core values reflect its strengths and standards.
We uphold the highest ethical standards related to animal training and behavior.
We display the utmost cultural competence and respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We foster collaboration to create powerful networks of learners, teachers, and community builders, and positively impact our world.
We promote evidence-based practices and information.
We live and work by our own credo: Train Kindly, Train Well.
