As an athlete and representative of the Northwest Flyers, I understand that participating in athletics is a privilege, and I will be held to the expectations listed below. As part of this team I am representing myself, my family, Northwest Flyers, and the greater Snohomish county community. I will do so to the best of my ability.
Northwest Flyers Daily Expectations
I will come to practice on time and ready to work to the best of my abilities each and every day. I understand that everyday is different and 100% effort one day may not be 100% effort the next and that is ok and a natural part of sports. My attitude and effort will make the difference long term.
I will bring my training shoes, spikes, sweats, running tights, long sleeve running shirt, sweatshirt, rain shell. We live in Western Washington. Even on a summer team it is best to come prepared with extra layers you don’t need, than to be cold or wet with nothing to put on. Preparation leads to performance.
I will attend all practices, meets for which I qualify for or express interest in. We understand that emergencies and problems can come up unexpectedly, but we ask that you communicate with the coaches as these come up so that we can plan accordingly. Communication is the basis of trust, trust is the basis of freedom.
I will maintain a positive and supportive attitude towards myself and my teammates. We will all learn and grow together, but in order to do so we must come together with the mindset that mistakes provide learning opportunities to grow together.
I will exhibit good sportsmanship at all times. Good People, make Great Athletes. At the end of the day if we do not help you to grow as a person we have only done half our job at best.
Northwest Flyers Meet Day Expectations
Plan on participating unless informed otherwise by a coach. NEVER ASSUME you are not competing, FIND OUT!
If you can not compete, plan to attend meets to help cheer on teammates,, and support the team in other ways including but not limited to (Team Social media takeovers, Filming events, assisting at events, making new friends along the way.)
Unexcused absences put you at jeopardy, communicate with coaches. We understand that things come up and vacations happen, but long term absences without communication will be grounds for removal from the team.
It is always preferred that you check out with a coach before leaving a meet, however if you must leave early check out with one of the coaches and make sure that they have cleared you to leave with a parent or pre-arranged trusted adult.
Plan ahead. Have all gear ready and even in the summer it pays to have some rain or even snow gear ready just in case.
Always do your best. Don’t let yourself or your teammates down.
