Thank you for your interest in the Insight Meditation Community of Washington (IMCW) Center for Mindful Living (CML). This facility is operated under the direction of IMCW Board of Directors and has been established to provide a mindful, community-based center committed to spreading the Dharma, peace, and healing.
Guidelines for Use
The following information is provided for currently recognized teachers listed on the IMCW website.
The submittion of this request is to determine availability only. Upon review, a follow-up email response will be sent within several days to work out the necessary details before confirmation. It is recommened that prospective users visit the Center to determine if the facility meets the requirements of the planned activity. Please contact the Center manager to schedule a visit.
When requesting space at the Center please be aware that multiple activities may be underway during a requested time. Consideration for others attending classes, meditations, meetings, or therapy sessions is essential in the shared space. If the nature of the requested activity is not aligned with the need for low-level interactions please contact the CML manager to discuss the possibility of using the Center for "sole use only", if available.
After facility use pease take care to leave the Center in an "as found" condition and that all belongings are removed at departure time. Due to the nature of the cork flooring, in both the Dharma and Meditation, liquids need to be in "non-spill" closed/capped containers.
(Right to cancel?)
Please be advised building is not ADA compliant.
Scheduling
To process your request in a timely manner please exercise care when information is submitted on the completed web-based form.
Reservation requests follow one of two formats:
1.) Event-based - Limited Duration Use or Series - This type of request is for events, classes, or programs of "fixed length". The event may be a one day Saturday workshop - on a specific day. Or, an multi-week series (e.g.: 8-week Mindful Based Stress Reduction class), with defined starting and ending dates.
Dates/times for a multi-week/month series can only be scheduled for same day of the week and at the same time for all sessions in the series (e.g.:12-week Mondays night class from 7:30pm to 9:30pm).
2.) Recurring Use/Series - Select this option when "on-going" use of the facility is required. Typically, this use is for classes/programs meeting on a recurrnig basis on fixed day, at fixed time. Activities of this type may meet every day, week, or month over an extended time period (e.g.:morning class on Sunday meeting weekly from 10:30 - 12:30).
Additional time for either type of use (Event-based/Recurring Series) for workshops or retreats can be scheduled separately. Setup and breakdown time is to be included within the time period/session requested.
