Family Advocacy

The Family Advocacy Center has some amazing opportunities.

MONDAY - THURSDAY | 10a-4p

Join our team as we prepare and stock the spaces each week and receive and host families and case workers who visit. We also have quarterly baby showers and monthly parent cafes.

Read2Lead

At our Read2Lead program, we are closing the academic and opportunity gaps for children in grades 1-6. During the school year, our afterschool program is held both at our Raleigh location and in a school in Frayser. During the summer, our literacy camp is held at our Raleigh location.

Program | WEEKDAYS | 3-6:30p School Year & 9-3pm Summer

We offer many volunteer opportunities including: one-on-one tutoring, enrichment leads, shuttle/bus driver or rider, Family Night hosts and so much more! Must be 16 or older to volunteer.

Mystery Reader | DAYS & TIMES VARY

Bring your favorite children's book and read to one of the classes. The children LOVE special guests! Bring a snack related to the book, dress in character, etc. The sky's the limit when it comes to making this a fun-filled experience!

FeedMemphis

FeedMemphis has a number of opportunities for you to get involved with.

FeedMemphis Prep | THURSDAYS | 6p

This team meets at the MDC warehouse (Outreach Warehouse) to pack bags and boxes of food for children and families.

Pop Up Grocery Prep | 2nd FRIDAY | 12P - 2P

This team meets at the Memphis Dream Center Austin Peay. location to set upand prepare for the Pop Up Grocery event.

Pop Up Grocery Shop | 2ND SATURDAYS | 9:30a-12:30p

This team meets at the Austin Peay Dream Center location for set up and tear down of the pop up shop and to host families as they shop for groceries.

Warehouse Team | TUESDAY | 10a-1p

This team meets at the MDC warehouse Outreach Warehouse) to help sort donations, label food resources and maintain the warehouse.

AdminTeam | ANYTIME

This team aids in the MDC administrative weekly tasks

Delivery Driver | WEEKDAYS | 9a-12p

Drivers will deliver food boxes and/or red food bags to specific FeedMemphis partnership schools and organizations on a weekly basis. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
