  • KEN AND MURIEL QUENZER SCHOLARSHIP

  • The Ken and Muriel Quenzer Scholarship is awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at a four year college or university, a community college, vocational or trade/technical school. The purpose of the scholarship is to award money to deserving students who might not be able to attend college because of financial constraints. Recipients must be a member in good standing with Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County, have a letter of school acceptance and intend to enroll as a full-time student (12 units or more at a community college or university) to be eligible. Two (2) $2500.00 scholarships will be awarded in 2025.

    Applicants must be: Boys & Girls Clubs member in good standing, a high school senior and not over 19 upon graduation from high school or not over 19 on August 1, 2025. 

    Applicants will be judged on the following criteria:

    Financial Need............................................................40%

    Academic Standing (minimum 2.5 GPA overall)......30%

    School/Community Involvment/Work Experience...10%

    Student Essay.............................................................10%

    Recommendations......................................................10%

     

  • The following information must accompany your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered:

    -- Essay: 600 words or less describing your personal goals and direction, and how your involvement with Boys & Girls Clubs has impacted your life

    -- College/School Acceptance Letter(s) -or- Letter of Intent/Registration

    -- Current High School Transcript: minimum 2.5 GPA overall

    -- Two letters of reference: one from a Boys & Girls Clubs staff member and one from a community leader or school official

    -- Copy of social security card or DACA Real ID card may be required at a later date

     ***ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE UPLOADED BELOW (There is a separate area for the essay)***

  • Mail completed application postmarked no later than Friday, May 2, 2025 to:

    -OR- completed application hand delivered by you or a Unit Director no later than Friday, May 2, 2025 to:

  • -- The Scholarship Committee will review all completed applications. A personal interview may be requested for final candidates.

    -- Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the academic institution to offset the cost of tuition, books, room and board and/or school supplies.
