Rifle & Pistol Range Safety Rules and Policies
THESE RULES & POLICIES APPLY ONLY TO THE RIFLE/PISTOL RANGE
1. Absolutely NO FIREARM DISCHARGE BEFORE 9:00 AM OR AFTER OFFICIAL SUNSET. These Rules & Policies apply only to the Rifle & Pistol Range and do not apply to Trap Shooting activities.
2. The Rifle/Pistol Range is for the use of members of North Carroll Rod & Gun Club. Inc. ONLY and their guests. ANY GUEST MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING.
3. Paper targets are the ONLY targets that may be used. POSITIVELY NO METAL, GLASS, CANS,
4. Paper targets shall be taped or stapled to the target board located in front of the earthen backstop and shall be kept within the designated area on the target board.
5. The range maximum length is 100 yards. A shooting bench is provided at the 100 yard position. This bench may be temporarily moved closer to the target if desired to shoot a shorterdistance. WHEN DONE SHOOTING, THE BENCH MUST BE RETURNED BACK TO THE 100 YARD POSITION AS A COURTESY TO OTHER SHOOTERS.
6. ALWAYS BE VIGILANT beyond and around the range. If you have ANY reason to believe that there may be someone in close proximity to the range, cease shooting at once until you are sure the range is secure and safe.
7. Shoot ONLY AT A PAPER TARGET AFIXED TO THE TARGET BOARD IN THE DESIGNATED AREA. TARGETS PLACED AT ANY OTHER LOCATION ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
8. Range is limited to one (1) person shooting at a time.
9. RAPID FIRING of firearms is not permitted. ALL SHOTS SHALL BE AIMED SHOTS.
10. No firearms shall be loaded OR handled while others are hanging or checking targets.
11. There shall be NO ALCOHOL present on the range and is strictly prohibited.
12. It is absolutely prohibited to shoot after or during consuming alcohol. There will be NO SECOND WARNINGS on this issue.
13. Trash can present a safety hazard. Discard any trash responsibly to keep our range neat. If you find any trash (not yours), remove it as you would your own. PICK UP YOUR BRASS.
14. Either bring a portable bench rest of your own or use the one we have at the range. Shooting from the back of trucks, etc. is prohibited.
