Nuit Blanche Regina is a free, accessible, after-dark arts festival in Downtown Regina showcasing large scale public art installations and performances on Saturday, August 26, 2023 (www.nuitblancheregina.ca). This outdoor event transforms the city's downtown into a multi-authored, multi-media artscape from sunset to midnight. Audiences of all ages are invited to explore the site-specific installations that are inspired by artistic intervention with the urban environment.
Nuit Blanche Regina celebrates both emerging and established artists working in new media technologies, performance, dance, sculpture and traditional arts. Selected artists will temporarily install or perform their work and engage with audiences. Individuals, artist collectives and school groups are encouraged to apply to present their work.
For 2023 Nuit Blanche Regina has implemented a curatorial theme to help reflect our initiatives and collaborate with the artists we work with. This year's festival is rooted in concepts of memory and ephemerality. Artists should interpret this theme broadly, work that questions fleetingness conceptually, as well as work that exists as ephemeral in its objecthood will be considered.
