About Maine Coons
The Maine Coon cat accidentally came into existence when Marie Antoinette, the last queen of France attempted to flee France, sending your belongings and her prize cats ahead on a vessel captained by Stephen Clough’s ship, Sally.
However the Marie Antoinette was beheaded and her cats were set loose in Maine in the US and breed with the local cat population. They are best known for being the largest domestic breed of cat and the tufts of fur on their ears.
Adpoting a Maine Coon is extremely rewarding and they will give their heart and soul, but they do require a dedicated, devoted and understanding family.
