Dear Student:
The men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Mu Mu (SMM) Chapter, appreciate your interest and invite you to participate in the chapter's STEM Scholarship competition. We intend to award one $1000 scholarship to a deserving student who plans to attend a 2-year or 4-year degree/certification program in an accredited, not-for-profit college/university/trade or vocational school. The applicant must plan to major in a STEM-related field of interest that will position him/her for a career in existing industries or emerging technology fields. This competition is open to all college-bound, Loudoun County, VA high school seniors except the sons and daughters of Sigma Mu Mu members.
It is important that you follow all instructions, provide all requested information, and submit your application by the specified deadline. Submission of all applications must be completed by 11:59 PM
Friday April 28th, 2023 and any received after this date will not be considered. All applicants must use the online form located via the following link: https://loudouncountyques.org/scholarship/
If you choose to submit application via mail, please follow these instructions when completing the application (It is strongly recommended that you submit your application online for faster processing):
Instructions for applying for this scholarship are:
1. Complete the entire application (Failure to do so will result in disqualification from consideration)
2. Sign the certification at the end of the application.
3. Include two recommendation letters from non-relatives, including at least one school STEM class faculty member who can attest to your STEM class performance, overall academic work, community service, and personal character.
4. Provide a copy of your high school transcript. Note that applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for this scholarship.
