Upon reading and signing this form we will begin drafting your construction plans.

SECTION A: ENGINEERING
Standard Engineering is included with your purchase.
Special Engineering is usually an additional cost of $150 for each additional sheet.
Engineering will be sent after Construction Plans Approval Form is signed, you will receive that Construction Plan Approval form after your plans have been drafted.
We ONLY provide engineering for pool related items. Any engineering for external structures, walls, etc... must be sourced independently.
Special Engineering includes: (but is not limited too) Any Art Rock Work (boulders, slides, waterfalls etc..)
- Any up or down slopes within 10' of pool
- Footing requirement when pool or spa is within 10' of a wall or structure.
- In Pool Bar Stools
- In Pool Tables
- Sunken Bars or Fire Pits
- Vanishing/Infinity Edge (requires 2 additional sheets $300)
- Raised Bond Beam over 36"
- Expansive Soils
- RimFlow
- Grotto Waterfall
- Rock/Custom Waterslide
- Raised Bond beam 36" or higher
- Art Rock Work
- Pool closer than 7ft of major structure or wall
- Auto Pool Cover
- Acrylic Pool Wall
- Patio Covers
- Cabana
- Column at Raised Bond Beam
- Pool Screen Enclosure (sometimes)
- Pools deeper than 8' (if your pool is deeper than 8' you will be required to provide a soils report!)
**Please understand that we do our very best to notify you of the types of things that may require additional engineering, But we are not licensed engineers. It will be up to the engineer to determine if your project requires special/additional engineering. If your design requires special engineering we will let you know. If you approve on a design that requires special engineering we will invoice you accordingly. Your engineering will NOT be released, until this invoice is paid.
Standard engineering can take 10 - 15 days to process. If your design requires special engineering there may be extended wait times to receive your engineering.
SECTION B: Construction Plans
Your Construction plans will be drafted after signing this approval form. Please allow 5 business days for your construction plans to be completed.
In drafting your construction plans we will do our best to ensure that everything is to code in your local area. Please understand that building departments can be fickle and difficult, what gets approved one week might change the next depending on who is reviewing your plan. To uphold our gurantee that your plans will be permit ready we commit to making any requested changes required by your building department.
The construction plans you will receive BEFORE your engineering will NOT be "permit-ready." These initial plans (we call "sample" plans) will be reviewed by you and then approved with the construction plan approval form. You can also use these "sample" plans to begin getting bids from subcontractors while you wait for your engineering to be completed. You may also use these "sample" plans to submit to most HOA's.
You will receive your "PERMIT READY" plans with your engineering, as soon as the engineering is completed. These will be emailed to you, along with instructions on how to print physical copies. Please be advised that most building departments now require your plans in .pdf format, so this is how you will receive them.
SECTION C: Permits
Upon receiving your permit ready plans, you will be required to pull your own permits or hire a permit running service. If your building department is difficult (we are talking to you San Diego!) we highly encourage you to hire a permit running service.
Any additional documents other than construction plans and engineering that is required by your building department will be the responsibility of you the homeowner to obtain.
SECTION D: Revisions
Upon signing this form you will no longer be able to make ANY changes to your design. So make sure to review your design thoroughly before signing. This excludes any changes needed and requested by your building department.
