Type of Legal Problem

The Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee provides assistance to tenants seeking to reduce their rent due to physical condition issues in their rental unit. Our services are limited to guiding tenants through the best possible legal procedures to request a rent reduction based on these conditions.

Please note:
- We do not perform or arrange for repairs.
- We do not communicate directly with landlords about repairs.
- We do not file lawsuits against landlords for ongoing conditions problems.
Our role is to provide legal information and support to help tenants navigate their options for rent abatement. By proceeding with this intake form, you acknowledge that our assistance is limited to these specific services.
The Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee provides assistance to tenants with evictions cases. This selection is for tenants who have have an eviction filed against them in Milwaukee or Waukesha county. You will need the case number and the date of the hearing.

Please Note:
- We are unable to assist on short notice. If your hearing is 1-2 working days from today, we may not be able to review and assist you before your hearing.
- If you have already appeared in court or missed your court date, it may be too late for our office to assist you. We may only be able to explain or provide advice for the next steps of your case.
- We do not assist landlords in eviction actions.
The Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee provides assistance to tenants who have received Termination Notices from their landlords. This selection is for tenants who have received an email, letter, text, or other communication from their landlord that they are ending their tenancy, or not renewing their rental agreement. You will need to provide a copy of the notice to our office for us to review.

Please Note:
- We are able to offer advice and guidance on how to proceed or protect your rights.
- We do not do negotiations, mediations, or discussions between you and your landlord.
- We do not draft documents or letters on your behalf to landlords.
The Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee can review and advise tenants living at properties owned or management by "S2" or "Sam Stair."

This is for tenants in S2 properties who need advice on how to pay the rent in light of the criminal charges pending against S2's managment.

If you have received a termination notice or have a court date, please complete the intake applications for those specific case types.
