Our office represents Milwaukee County residents with one exception. We now represent tenants in eviction cases in Waukesha County. Otherwise, please contact the State Bar of Wisconsin at (800) 362-9082 for a legal services provider serving people in your area.
  • The Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee provides assistance to tenants seeking to reduce their rent due to physical condition issues in their rental unit. Our services are limited to guiding tenants through the best possible legal procedures to request a rent reduction based on these conditions.

    Please note:

    • We do not perform or arrange for repairs.
    • We do not communicate directly with landlords about repairs.
    • We do not file lawsuits against landlords for ongoing conditions problems.

Our role is to provide legal information and support to help tenants navigate their options for rent abatement. By proceeding with this intake form, you acknowledge that our assistance is limited to these specific services.

  • This is for tenants in S2 properties who need advice on how to pay the rent in light of the criminal charges pending against S2's managment.  If you have received a termination notice or have a court date, please complete the intake applications for those specific case types.

  • Eviction

In order to help you as quickly as possible, we ask that you provide the following information about your eviction case.
  • Termination Notice

Legal Aid tries to help as many people as possible, but unfortunately we do not have the capacity to help everyone that receives a termination notice from their landlord.  Therefore, we require certain information and documents right now so that we can be as efficient as possible to help as many people as possible. We appreciate your understanding and hope that we can help you resolve your problem.
