We will have Law Enforcement and prior agency check responses sent to our fax number or email. In some instances, departments will not respond to a contractor directly and only to the requesting agency. If this occurs, we will share a Dropbox folder with you to drop those returns in, as well as any other documents, i.e., Livescan results. Below, please provide your secure fax number so we can set up an alternate agency fax for those agencies.

Social media investigations. We use a third-party service. The Cost is $50.00. It is on our order form to choose or not. We will conduct our own investigation to satisfy the POST requirement, however, this is not as comprehensive as a Ferretly Social Media Investigation:

A background check that involves a combination of technology and human expert analytics to identify a subject's online presence. Once the subject's risk profile is correctly identified, seven years of publicly available content is reviewed for business-related behaviors - racism/intolerance, violence, potentially illegal activity, and sexually explicit material.

A report is then created with a summary of screenshot examples of flagged, actionable material. The last step includes a unique Protected Class Safety Feature, redacting protected class information pertaining to the subject. The Ferretly report provides insight into a subject's online behavior and appropriateness as a fit for an agency's basic code of conduct, values, or social media policy while limiting the risk of a negligent hire and preventing employers from unintentionally applying a bias to an employment decision.
Livescan results- Please tell us at what stage you Livescan your applicants: Of course, for some non-sworn applicants, a conditional offer of employment (COE) will need to be provided to request this process from the applicant. We encourage a COE to be provided after we finish the background investigation. (Walber Leonel, Richard Branton, and Vincent Fusco Vs. American Airlines) LiveScan results should be dropped into the DROPBOX folder.

We will Livescan the applicant before we assign them to G2 PSB2 weeks into the BG process, please assist the applicant with this processAfter we receive the final background investigation report, we will process the Livescan.
Do you reimburse applicants for out-of-pocket costs for the Livescan rolling fee?

Department Choices for a waiver: Please add the following paragraph to your waiver: "Our agency contracts with G2 Public Safety Backgrounds. They are a licensed private investigations agency holding State license No. PI 188266. Our agency is granting you permission and authority to allow G2 PSB's personnel to investigate all aspects of this applicant's background. You have our permission to provide your findings to them directly, so they may follow up and if needed, notify us of any red flag issues." We can also build a new waiver and provide a copy for approval. Please provide a digital copy of your stationery and logo, and email it steven.ward@g2backgrounds.com. Please let us know if you process your own waivers (notarized) for your applicants and then provide them to us, or would you like us to handle that task?

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING WITH PERSONAL INFORMATION BY EMAIL, i.e., waivers, birth certificates, etc. Our cyber policy will not allow us to open the document.

We will create a DropBox or BOX.COM folder for your department and share it with the department liaison(s) so that emailing and faxing personal information and large documents are eliminated. This also adds to the security of sharing or sending information, including the digital report of investigation. If you have several contacts, we simply need their name, Ranks, and email addresses to add them to the cloud service share.

When you receive your Digital Report of Investigation (ROI) it will come in your email as a link. It will be named "ROI- John Doe 5.21.2026" for example. Click on the link. When prompted, open using your PDF reader or editor, NOT A WEB BROWSER. We suggest leaving the report in the cloud, so if we need to add information, i.e., Livescan results, or correct something, we can do that swiftly. Once the applicant is hired, and if you wish, you can move it to your department server or cloud. We always have a copy.

If you have department forms you require your applicant to complete as part of the process, please provide them to us and we will add them to the applicant portal with instructions. If in MS Word, we will convert the document to a PDF and create fill-in boxes to promote neatness.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Antioch Police, and other agencies will not process any law enforcement checks without a letter from you stating we are allowed to receive information on your behalf. LA Co SO charges $35.00 for non-sworn requests, i.e., PS dispatchers, and the request must be mailed to them with the check. Some departments charge for processing any LE Checks, i.e., Reno PD. We will pay this fee for you. This will be reflected on your invoice at cost, no markup.

We understand, per your department policy. that Law Enforcement agency check requests made for sworn positions, or criminal investigators as defined by California penal code sections 830- 832.16 are processed at No Fee.
